Winter was here. Evident by the crisp chill in the air. Not o mention the occasional snowdrift. Although the wolf's heart was set on spring, there was always a certain appeal to winter. Playing in the snow. Creating things from the frozen material. Observing the delicate icicles that decorated city buildings. Winter also seemed to have the added bonus of making tracking easier.Clear air and snow dampening nature so that human and creature made scents were all the more clear. Maybe that was why she finally noticed. A thousand times she had traveled that road. A thousand times picking up who had ventured there. But for the first time even older scents were highly discernible. One scent in particular catching her nose.
Eyes alight in excitement she quickly followed the trail. Footsteps shuffling hurriedly in search of a remnant of her past. A very pleasant one. The wolf wound up in front of a door. Knocking enthusiastically until her calls were answered. For a moment she simply stared at the figure that had opened the door. Eight years. That's how long it had been since their paths last crossed. He had grown up considerably. Then again she wasn't exactly the little girl he would have remembered either. But he had those same soft dark eyes. A look she would never forget in a million years.
"SAM!" The wolf pounced quickly. Practically tackling the poor boy to the ground. As usual making sure her body was the one that actually hit.
