“baaaaaaabe!” you called out.
you set aside the book in your hand and tried to hide yourself under the blankets. of course, it wasn’t actually going to do anything, but the thought of that spider landing on your skin seemed worse than the depths of hell. you’ve had an irrational fear of spiders since you were a child, and never want to relive that one memory.
jaemin comes running through the doors, almost in a sweat, and says, “what?! are you okay?!” obvious that jaemin took off in a hurry, you shook your head and said, “babe, it’s a daddy long legs!”
he laughs and jokes, “now, now, who else you callin’ daddy long legs besides me?” you tear up and point at the brown creepy-crawly on the wall. once jaemin notices you break just a little by a spider, you can see him compose himself and take a deep breath. jaemin was scared of spiders, too. but you didn’t know that he would do just about anything for you.
five minutes pass, and jaemin successfully catches the spider and releases it outside. you’re still curled up in your blanket, even holding your breath as jaemin did the entire thing. but once he comes back from the bathroom to wash his hands, your sad puppy eyes begin to overflow with tears, and the only thing jaemin can do is jump into the blankets with you and hold you tight.
as jaemin wipes your tears, “don’t worry, babe. i have your back and i will always have your back. even if it is a daddy long legs. like me,” and smirks as you playfully hit his chest.
