“How did this happen?” @sanctaes
An aching grunt climbed his throat, held back barely by whatever pride he could still call his own. Dull and distant, the voice asking for his well-being was out of focus. The severity of the situation pushed against the pull of his consciousness to fade. Lightheadedness set in when forcing himself to look up. Another breath collected, then he answered. “They got the squad that was s’pposed to guard our back. We got flanked-”
Coughs interrupted him. The Berserker bit his teeth together, grinding them in anger at his own shortcomings. The scene surrounding them told of a battle to his favor, but only by a margin. Defeated enemies were strewn around. No signs of other Servants could be sensed. Only the calm ambers of this one before him meeting his own. “I stayed back to get any assholes tryin’ to take their chance so master and the others could get out. Are ya the backup?”
