Once the first aid recert class is finished, you’ll find me once again in the art studio. At this point maybe i should just set up a cot in there. Anyway, you know what to do if you need me.

Good morning everyone! I have been working diligently on getting everything set up for the Book Club, and I am pleased to announce we are finally ready to get the ball rolling on things! So, I’m here to announce our first group read! To start, we will be doing a reading of Lord of the Flies by William Golding! I’ve made sure the library has enough copies for everyone interested, and have placed them on reserve at the front desk. So, be sure to pick up your copy today! At this Wednesday’s meeting, we will be discussing Chapters 1 and 2, so definitely come prepared to share your thought and ideas on the happenings! Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns! I can’t wait to see everyone Wednesday, February 3, at 5:30 PM in Library Meeting Room 2!
I suppose it’s time for another of those obligatory introduction posts- and, it looks like I’m not even the only one today! How comforting.
Anyway, my name is Stacey Evans, and I’m Dalton’s newest Registered Nurse! Stop by the medical wing any time, and say ‘hello’! If you don’t find me there, you’ll likely find me in the art room! I also reside in the staff quarters on-campus, if you do happen to need anything after hours. It’s going to be great meeting and getting to know everyone!
I guess if I’m going to be an insomniac, it isn’t the worst thing in the world to pay some attention to a couple of pieces I’ve been neglecting. I have so many unfinished pieces, I need to kick my own ass. But, I’m also a stupid level of excited to start the Halloween series I’ve been thinking about. Decisions, decisions...
I’m looking forward to a bit of a lazy Sunday. If anyone needs anything, I’ll be in the art room. Though, I wouldn’t say ‘no’ to getting together with someone. Things have been a bit lonelier than expected, since I arrived. Anyway, I will be around.
Orientation Week: Presentation
Hi everyone! Thank you all so much for coming to check out the Orientation Week Fair and Presentations tonight! It’s so wonderful seeing everyone talking, getting comfortable, and getting to know one another. After all, isn’t that part of what Dalton is all about? Moving along my name is Lorelai Reilly, and I am a staff member and a Switch! I have a couple different jobs on campus. For starters I’m the only RN at the moment, so if you’re sick or in need of medical attention I’m your gal. On top of that, I am the Human Anatomy teacher at the Sanctuary. And, my class is really what I’m here to talk about tonight. One of the first questions I normally get asked is how Anatomy aligns with the goals and teachings of the Sanctuary. And I know on the surface, it doesn’t look like there is any sort of connection. But, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Anatomy is very important and pertinent to anyone practicing a D/s lifestyle. Not only is it important to know the areas and various functions of the body, but to know which areas are pleasurable and how to explore them appropriately. It is also just as important to know how to perform D/s play safely, and to know and understand the limits of human anatomy.
During my class, we will learn a good amount of basic science and terminology. I teach this, sections without direct D/s correlation, because again it is important to understand the body and how its various components function. Each week, I will present a new lesson. The lesson will include a presentation component, as well as additional resources I recommend everyone look into. Each week will culminate in a Discussion. These discussions will require some critical thinking, and will primarily focus on the anatomical relation of that week’s lesson to D/s. My class is partially lecture, partially hands-on. There may be a couple of days where we will have guest speakers or presenters as well.
That’s pretty much the long and short of what I have. Anyone who has any questions is welcome to ask them now, or you may always contact me later to discuss anything you’d like. I can’t wait to see everyone in class!
Who is your hero? My brother. Hunter is the smartest, strongest, bravest, most caring person I know. He’s always been there for me, no matter what. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I cannot even begin to answer this question. I have no idea where I’d like to end up.
What is your biggest fear? I am pretty terrified of clowns. Funnily enough, failure, despite the amount of times I’ve done just that. And...I’m afraid that Kallee’s killer will never be found.
What is your favorite family vacation? Not to be a copy cat, but the vacation my brother talked about, the cruise my family took. It was one of the few times I remember having the ability to feel somewhat like a child, and I know Hunter had everything to do with that. He made sure I had the best of times- he played with me all day; I’m sure I made him take me on the water slide a hundred times if I begged him for one. But, he never got tired of me, and he never said ‘no’. He even talked my parents into ice cream, which was always a rarity in our lives. That vacation was one of the simplest times I believe Hunter or myself have ever had in our lives, and I’m not sure I ever got to properly thank him for giving me that.
What would you change about yourself if you could? I wish I weren’t an addict.
What really makes you angry? Dishonesty, disrespect, disloyalty, racism, homophobia, animals being mistreated, mixed signals, injustice.
What motivates you to work hard? The people in my life who have stood by me through too much bullshit for me to fail. Hunter, Kallee, Jamie, Ellis, and Genevieve.
What is your favorite thing about your career? My favorite thing about being a journalist was the investigation portion of things. I always enjoyed interviewing people, gathering information, and piecing things together.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Chicken Curry
Who is your favorite author? Call me old fashioned, but Agatha Christie
Have you ever had a nickname? Oh, several. Cam, Cammie, Bell, Bella, Bells...
Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not? Ultimately I am not a huge fan, the thought of something occurring in my life without my knowledge makes me a bit anxious. Though, small surprises are alright.
In the evening, would you rather play a game, visit a relative, watch a movie, or read? That would really depend on my mood.
Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why? Alaska! I’d love to see some of the wildlife and visit some of the national parks! And, I don’t mind the cold.
Would you rather win the lottery or work at the perfect job? And why? I’d prefer to work at the perfect job. That is a once in a lifetime opportunity. While winning the lottery itself may be, more money can always be generated and made.
Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island? Jamie
If money was no object, what would you do all day? Read and write. Explore. Cook. I know I would probably watch a lot of TV as well.
If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to? 2019
How would your friends describe you? I have no idea? Crazy, probably.
What are your hobbies? Reading, watching movies, cooking, dancing.
What is the best gift you have been given? My ring.
What is the worst gift you have received? Etiquette Lessons. No, I am not kidding.
Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without? Water. My brother. Books.
List two pet peeves. When people slam doors, and people who clean under their fingernails with napkins.
Where do you see yourself in five years? I would love to answer this question, but I unfortunately cannot. I am not in a mindset to clearly think about things like that. I still have to take things one day at a time.
