Sub: 58 // "The Car Ride" by sanctuarycompromised
It was painfully silent. The only sounds which played in the background were the quiet ticking of the car’s turning signal as he waited for the traffic light to switch to green, and the muffled reverberations of cars passing by in the lanes next to them, gently nudging the vehicle with their displaced wind as they passed. She sat next to him, not daring to make a move, even to breathe. She did not know where he was taking her, and at that point she didn’t really care. She looked up at him; his once warm, inviting blue eyes now shone as cold and unforgiving as icicles as they reflected the headlights of passing cars off their glassy surface. She was scared, but at the same time she knew this was her own fault. As she sat there in the deafening silence, she reminisced to herself about the relationship that they once shared.
