made my first sand mold yesterday!

Got my big mold mostly done today! I just need to do the banding tomorrow. (Forgot to take a picture of it assembled, oh well)

My favorite part is lighting off the mold wash to burn off the extra denatured alcohol.

Good looking metal casting process with Great technique

It took me about 9 hours to line this thing with plasticine and get it ready for pt 2. I just hope I got all the undercuts. I’m gonna double check it tomorrow before I ram it.

I rammed 1000lbs of sand this morning with help from my friend Paige. This is pt1 of my biggest mold ever so we shall see how it turns out!
