Charlotte x Sidney Wedding

Can we just talk about something....

So we have talked about how Eliza was all super rude and acting like she "won" at the wedding towards Chatlotte, but can we just talk about how she treated SIDNEY?

She basically dismisses him and anything he thinks ("i dont think this is our sort of thing do you?" And then doesnt even wait for him to answer) and tells him he knows nothing ("men. What to do they know?").

She basically keeps him as an ornament on her arm. I feel like in this relationship he is not allowed to have an opinion on anything. I do not see love there. I know Charlotte tells sidney that eliza loves him but I do not see it. Maybe it was there once ten years ago but I do not see it now. I feel like she just tries to get things she knows other people want.

I honestly feel so bad for Sidney, because if he goes through with this (and believe me, I hope to GOD he does not), he has to live like that with her. Eliza just takes and takes from him, never really giving anything in return (not talking about money. Talking about love and affection). She does not show sidney the kind of love he deserves after all this time. And he is willingly entering into this, knowing how unhappy and depressed he will be, to save his brother.

Well if I wasnt aggravated before, I certainly am now just thinking about it.

Esther and Lord Babington

I love the tension between them when Lord Babington helps Esther down off her horse (episode 5).

They don't lose eye contact all the way down. Babs is enjoying being close and able to hold her physically. Esther is surprised at how she likes him holding her (he isn't Edward after all). You can feel the tension between them.

On the ground, Babs lingers because he is enthralled by her until he remembers himself and moves his hands away to avoid temptation.

Esther is in shock about how she feels and uses putting her gloves away to gather herself together.

They both feel something in that moment - for Babs it makes him even more captivated with Esther, and for her, she realises that maybe Babs is a man she should consider for marriage.

All of that without even a kiss!
