" Hm? " Shikamaru straightened his posture, meeting Temari's verdant gaze with a solemn expression.

His mind had been calculating several scenarios at once, moving imaginary shogi pieces across the board against the enemy player, trying to determine their next course of action. To complete the mission unscathed is to win the game. Yet, he had been staring hard at the bandages wrapped around Temari's wounded arm, frustrated with himself.

He moved then, and while looming over her, Shikamaru placed a comforting hand on her good shoulder.

" Your arm. How is it? " he asked. His tone is softer, apologetic.

To win the game is to complete the mission and keep her safe. His mind won't rest until then.

oh my god andy's one of my favs. deeply kind which is one of the best qualities any human can have, and such such SUCH a sweetheart. i love her temari portrayal, how she's talked about temari's guilt and sense of responsiblity and deep care underneath the "cruelest kunoichi" moniker. im shrine in my bedroom obsessed with her temari and i would take a bullet for ms andy herself. @sando1chi

@sando1chi ; eyes  flicked  over  the  public  that  meandered  through  the  park.  eyes  that  matched  her  sister  and  a  park  that  surely  looked  nothing  like  the  parks  her  sister  saw  in  konoha.  gaara  loved  the  sunagakure  parks  with  their  intricate  mosiac  paths  and  hardy  ornamental  plants,  and  she  cared  for  many  people  in  konoha.  but  the  air  was  too  heavy  with  humidity  in  the  forest  village.  it  felt  like  breathing  through  cloths.

a  kid  waved  at  her,  the  father  took  a  glance  in  their  direction,  gave  a  respectful  bow  of  his  head,  and  led  the  child  away  while  trying  to  hide  his  hurry.  "are  you  scared  about  becoming  a  parent?"  gaara  asked,  not  looking  to  her  sister,  but  there  was  a  wrinkle  over  her  eyes. 爱

17. What motivates you?

There's a lot of things that motivate my writing. Re-watching the Naruto series or referencing the manga (I have the entire Naruto and Shippuden collection) are the first things that come to mind. I also really enjoy watching films and listening to audiobooks to help motivate me to write. Oh, and music, too! So, I guess you could say a little bit of everything motivates me to write.

26. What are you doing right now?

Right now, I'm replying to my Munday drafts at the comfort of my bed. I'm hoping to spend the a few more hours working through my drafts before I turn in. Here's hoping!

breathless, beaming. utahime enjoys the aftermath, the very end of an adrenaline rush. blood simmering down from a prior boil. joints are loose, every crevice and edge of form shining with the gleam of sweat. it reminds her of being a child again. the performance, the act of getting every step correct and hitting each note with refined excellence had never been as fulfilling as the applause and praise that washed over her at the conclusion.

liminal space #28 old stones and henge

@sando1chi  pale  gold  dunes  laid  in  their  familiar  stretch,  the  two  siblings  stood  at  the  border  of  umber  tone  rocks  mottling  the  sand.  further  within  a  circle  of  jagged  stones  stood  vertical  to  thigh  height.

"yashamaru  brought  me  here  once."  gaara  spoke  through  their  face  veil  worn  to  filter  dust.  pale  eyes  traced  the  worn  lines  of  the  stones  shaped  by  wind  and  time  yet  arranged  with  such  human  intention.  "he  told  me  we  don't  know  how  old  these  are.  they're  older  than  the  village.  there's  some  oral  lessons  from  a  few  families.  one  says  these  were  to  ward  off  destructive  spirits,  another  says  they're  to  offer  and  invite  helpful  spirits.  the  third  says  these  were  placed  by  the  spirits  themselves."

she  remembered  being  so  young  looking  at  the  undefined  arrangements  and  clutching  her  belly.  yashamaru  also  told  her  even  if  she  carried  a  spirit,  she  could  choose  if  her  body  was  to  hurt  or  help.  gaara  didn't  share  that  part  of  the  story  with  temari.

IT’S SILENT, SAVE FOR THE SOUND OF THEIR BREATHING and the steady thrum of his heart in his ears. Fingertips ghost along the length of Temari’s spine, her head resting against his bare chest. Never in a million years would he have envisioned this ──── quiet moments spent with her in his arms, kiss swollen lips, hair a mess atop his head, and love bursting from his chest. The woman who holds his heart ──── yet another thing he never would have envisioned as a boy, the so-called cruelest kunoichi being the one he loves ──── wraps her arms around his middle and snuggles closer to his chest, uttering a small compliment. ( Baby steps, he supposes; neither he nor Temari were experts at vulnerability. )

“ Oh, yeah? ” he hums, voice thick with exhaustion. He yawns. ( If he were to die in his sleep, he’d go with a smile on his face. ) “ I like being close to you, too. ”

Azure hues gazed at her with slightly furrowed brows. Breath ragged after a spar that left his bones with a pleasant ache. She was strong, not that he ever doubted that, after all, he wasn't foolish enough to write off any of the sand siblings as an easy target. That just sounded like a death wish if you asked him. With adrenaline still coursing heavily in the Uzumaki's veins, a bubbled laugh spilled past his lips. Shoulders shuddering with mirth as he shifted, raising his arms up to lock calloused fingers behind the back of his head.

❝ Tell me about it - ! Aw, man, I really thought I had you there. ❞

Voice vaguely on the verge of a whine, but not quite there.

❝ You're amazing, Temari! If I had underestimated you, I would have been a goner for sure if this were a real fight! Geez, guess I still have some catching up to do, hu?❞
