its the prose merlin

thats right. just teen gawain and his relatives causing problems roaming the countryside, killing saxons and trying to find arthur and be knighted.

featuring such memorable characters as:

gawain but fifteen years old, at his absolute worst, stealing horses and going feral with impunity

agravaine, whose main character trait in the merlin is being bullied by his family and only speaking in aphorisms

gaheris (gaheris)

gareth, whos literally ten years old and so funney who let him have a sword

yvain and his half brother who is also named yvain

galeschin, whos main job is arguing with gawain over whos in charge (its gawain)

sangremore, prince of constantinople, whose like 2 years older than everyone else and just watching them bicker for his own amusement

the plot involves episodic skirmishes with the saxons, hiding from lot, doing Detective Work to find arthur, and internal arguments amoungst the group.

also gringolet is canonically there bc hes the horse gawain stole

Sangremore is so insane like he's like the foster brother of Mordred cause he got dumped with him on that ship and he's like the son of an emperor??? He gets the sorcerer sebile (the sebile who is in love with Morgan and is a powerful sorcerer who went to Hades to tame the three headed hound???) as his girlfriend and the guy he likes to hang out with is his bum ass cousin Dodinel and his bestie Kay 2 (Kay of estral no relation to Kay the seneschal) doing hunting??? Man what a guy

the hunt did not go as planned

those three guys are Dodinel the Wildman, the knight who loves to hunt and his two friends Kay of Estral (or the strange) his constant companion and Sangremore the unruly, his other weird cousin. Dodinel is funnily enough related to gawain (the genes just run in the family)

sagramore becomes the champion of sebile, a pagan queen and enchantress, despite being christian. they eventually marry.

bisclavret is a werewolf who is betrayed by his wife and left as a wolf until rescued by the king who is so happy to see him again that he kisses him and restores his barony.
