Stargazers - ̗̀★ Ryuusei & Morgan
- ̗̀ ★ The night air cooled everything down considerably. The stars shone down on everyone and everything, though the blindingly bright lights of the Sector 006 polluted their influence. The moon hung in the sky, bloated and full, looking as if it were about to fall out of the sky at any moment. - ̗̀ ★ Bundling himself up in his jacket, Ryuusei thought this was a perfect time to think, gather his thoughts, get away from Gentarou before he tried to pull a slumber party or something. The boy moved too often, thought Ryuusei, and he easily overwhelmed the transfer student. - ̗̀ ★ The parks were nearly deserted now, even though it wasn’t that late. The trees swayed gently in the wind, back and forth, and Ryuusei found himself watching the few scarce leaves teeter and be pulled. - ̗̀ ★ He missed Jirou. His chest constricted, and he shook his head to clear these thoughts from his head as quickly as they started, death-gripping the meteor switch. He looked at the ground, drilling holes into the cement pathway with a stare that would tell anyone that cared to look he had matured far too quickly. He forced his mind blank, which he preferred to the aching and longing for his friend. - ̗̀ ★ Brought out of his reverie, Ryuusei started, eyes darting around. He realized slowly that he wasn’t alone, and that a boy around his age, maybe a little younger, stood a few meters away. His gaze was fixed upon the sky, and his lips were moving. All Ryuusei could hear was something about the moon, the stars, space—and the few words he did hear had sounded nostalgic and the boy’s outline phased in and out in Ryuusei’s eyes. - ̗̀ ★ Ryuusei took a step forward, body moving of its own accord. One step, then another, legs possessed by the will to learn more about him, to share experiences, for both of them to look upon the sky and stars together. - ̗̀ ★ The fact this boy was not Kengo Utahoshi, whom Ryuusei had mistook him as from far away (or perhaps, was it the bond that Gentarou was always going on about that forced him to view the other Club member instead of a stranger?), surprised him, which he quickly hid. He said nothing, just stood perpendicular to him with a strange look on his face with emotions he didn’t quite understand himself and would be unreadable to anyone else as well.
- ̗̀ ★ Whether the boy continued to talk or not, or even took notice of him or not, Ryuusei finally turned to stand next to him, turning his head upwards to also observe the night sky. - ̗̀ ★ A shooting star wove through the clouds before disappearing, and Ryuusei briefly wondered if it was for him.
