Supreme court grants bail to Unitech promoter Sanjay chandra

The Supreme Court on Tuesday grants interim bail to Unitech promoter Sanjay Chandra. Sanjay Chandra, Unitech Ltd. promoter finally gets bail because his parents tested positive for COVID-19. The bench of Justices D Y Chandrachud and M R Shah granted interim bail to Chandra for one month. However, his brother Ajay Chandra did not get bail.

Under Supreme Court’s nose, conspiracy hatched to destroy 2G case

The exposure of an apparent conspiracy between the CBI prosecutor in the 2G scam investigation, A.K. Singh, and the accused Unitech Managing Director, Sanjay Chandra, could have grave consequences since it reveals a deliberate attempt to pull the wool over the Supreme Court’s eyes under whose supervision the entire investigation and prosecution has been occurring since December 16, 2010.

The leaked conversation leads the matter beyond the prosecutor and accused to involve star prosecution witness A.K. Srivastav, who was otherwise liable to face a jail term, along with the former Telecom Minister, A. Raja, the former DoT Secretary, S. Behura, and the former private secretary to Mr Raja, R.K. Chandolia.

#2G tape expose: A brazen case of the fence eating the crop

The sensational expose by CNN-IBN of what the CBI acknowledges is prima facie evidence of a taped conversation between AK Singh, chief prosecutor in the  2G scam case, and Sanjay Chandra, managing director of Unitech and one of the accused in one of India’s most brazen corruption cases, shows just how deep the rot in the system goes.

Unitech has claimed that the audiotape, in which Singh is shown to be working in tandem with Chandra to weaken the prosecution’s case, is fabricated, and that the voice purporting to be that of Chandra is not his. A statement put out by the company on behalf of Chandra claimed that “he has never met the Prosecutor in the 2G case outside of Court or had any phone conversation with him.” Chandra claimed that “it appears a fabricated voice recording has been sent anonymously to the CBI. Any suggestion that Sanjay Chandra is linked with this recording is nothing but an attempt to malign him and prejudice his defence in the 2G case.”
