But he rejected as his hearts did allow him to be part of these projects. Recently he revealed that Robo 2.0 was offered to him. He was offered the role of Rajnikanth. Story Behind Sanjay Dutt Biopic: Why Raju Hirani Chose Sanju Over Next Munna Bhai

Sanjay Dutt Biopic "Sanju" is one of the most anticipated movie of the year 2018. Sanju trailer released two weeks back and became the most watchable trailer in 24 hours. Sanju promotion has already started. In a recent interview with Director of Sanju, Raju Hirani revealed the story behind Sanjay Dutt Biopic. After PK, the team of Raju Hirani and Abhijat Joshi were supposed to work on the third instalment of Munna Bhai Series with Sanjay Dutt. But then something magical happened and they decided to work on the totally different script which is now "Sanju". The answer to the question "How it all started ?".How Raju Hirani convinced to the story which is already known in the public. Raju Hirani believes in making the unique story. What influences him the most about Sanjay Dutt Life. Raju said- One day I was editing and I got a call from Sanju. He asked me to come to his house if I am free. I was editing throughout the day, So I decided to go just to chill with Sanju. Sanju and I worked together but we never been great friends who spend time together all the time. Still, I love talking to him whenever I meet him. I went to his house and we sat down from 9 pm in the night to 3 am in the morning. He was kept talking and I was just listening. He told some really interesting stories of his life. I came back and next day the same thing happened. He called me and I went there and He kept telling me about his life. This happened for quite a few days. I realised its a great story if we could tell it on screen. We used to keep recorder with us to record whatever he says. He was ok with it. But our main concern was what to tell and what not to tell. Because there was so much controversy in his life. Around 300 girlfriends, very famous actresses name involved. So we were confused about it. So we asked him, especially what not to tell. As I do not want to make a film to glorify his image. I want to tell a story with all honesty. His answer gave me enough confidence to do that. his answer was- "Bol Na yr jo Bolna hai" (Say whatever you want to say. No problem at all). Then We started writing the whole story from the beginning. Abhijaat wrote the first draft of the story like a novel. Then we called Ranbir Kapoor and cast him as the main lead. That is how it all began. Now the movie is almost ready. I asked Sanju to watch it once. But he wants to see only the final cut. Sanjay Dutt Biopic  Sanju is going to release on 29th June 2018.
