5 years ago, when I thought the US wasn't racist enough to elect an openly racist president. Boy, was I wrong! I started visiting the mosque in San Jose after a candidate for American president started openly attacking an entire religion. There was a myth that there was freedom of religion in the US. I went to the San Jose mosque every 3 months, all through 2016, to get to know these people better and, hopefully, represent the less racist majority in my home country. Then, 45 got elected because the majority of people who participated in that election were racist enough not to stop him. I felt like I had betrayed all the nice people I'd been hanging out with for a year. Later, I realised, I didn't betray them. My country did. #sorrynotsorry #racistamerica San Jose, Costa Rica. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #bohemiancostarica #sanjosecostarica #sanjosevive #2016elections #uselection2016 #trumpracist #trumpisracist #democratsabroad #votebluetosaveamerica #muslimlove #antiracism #antiracist #antiracismo #tbt #throwbackthursday #throwback #americasucks #americalast (at San José, Costa Rica) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNavATdBQMr/?igshid=1m5b7p9vu79ru
