Look back and thank your ancestors. Friday night was very full circle for me to be in the space belonging to songwriting great @valeriesashford at the same time as my own beautiful past. This is my high school Acappella teacher Ms Joaquino, who not only arranged jazz, soul, and folk music for a 15-part girls group, @brearleybnaturals but also took the time to nurture songwriting and arranging talents of girls who were willing to take it on. And we recorded in the studio! Folks like @janrather @maudelstatus and I wrote and arranged our own music and got to hear our music LIVE sung by REAL PEOPLE. It’s amazing to think of how one person can contribute so much.
