Well, the place certainly looks haunted, to say the least. There was dust covering just about every surface, and while there were still plenty of objects around that had belonged to someone, there was nothing that could be considered a sign of anything living. She moves slowly, eyes looking over everything. Nadine believes in ghosts for reasons she hadn’t told James, or anyone for that matter, and she wasn’t against the idea of proof.
“Did you see any ghosts?” She doesn’t turn from what she’s looking at, a bookshelf with a few books that had been left behind a long, long time ago. She gets close to grabbing one of them, wanting to flip through the pages, but she stops herself. There was no one in the house, and there hadn’t been in a while, but that didn’t stop feelings from sticking around. They had seeped into the wallpaper, and they could certainly have done the same to these books. She didn’t feel like accidentally stumbling across someone’s traumatic memories.
“Or are you just like, going with the general vibe of the place?” At this point, she turns around to actually look at him. “Because I don’t like, not believe you, but at the same time, the place could just be dusty.”
