The three 13th century portals of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta on Piazza del Duomo in Siena, Italy, were created in the Tuscan Romanesque style by Giovanni Pisano. The 14th century upper section of the facade is influenced by French Gothic.

Melfi (Basilicata). Behind Cathedral of S. Maria Assunta (Minor Basilica). Returning from the Norman Castle, I walked the via Guarini, behind the Cathedral and the strange piazza 4 novembre (basically a street). So I could better observe the bell tower without scaffolding and I discovered "Il tetto", a reception structure, hostel for family holidays and not. The hotel is located inside the Seminary Palace and is part of the historical-cultural monumental complex of the Bishop's Palace and the Cathedral, dating back to the seventeenth century.
