Casino nights would forever remind her of Las Vegas, the flickering lights, the foolhardy excitement of people ready to try their luck, the alcohol free-flowing and imbuing everyone with a false sense of confidence. A chapter of her life she’d prefer to remain closed, but as luck would have it, the aquarium had put a private tour and dinner of the place on the bidding block, and she’d been sent to oversee it despite all of her protests. Perhaps it was an exaggeration to call this her own personal hell, but it came close to it -- all of her old demons coming up in spades to haunt her. Stepping out of the casino for a much-needed break, the figure of a man caught her attention, tall -- with unmistakable features that sent a jolt of recognition through her. “Logan?” Eyebrows knitted in surprise at the sudden reappearance of the man in her life, but she was certain her eyes weren’t fooling her. It was odd seeing him here, at an event that reminded her so much of the place she’d been running from when she’d first met him in Denver. In some ways, Logan had met a version of her that was incomplete -- torn between what she’d once been and trying to find what she wanted to become. A place that admittedly felt odd to return to, but was a welcome encounter all the same. ( @loganlancaster )
