CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS 1 December 2015
Ho! Ho! Ho! It’s Christmas time again and I am back writing in Santa’s Notebook.
There are many wonderful traditions at Christmas and you have told me a lot about them over the years when you have come to talk with me. Did you know however that I too have a number of Christmas traditions? What do you think they are? Maybe you will write to me telling me what of my traditions you believe you know!
As you know, I get to see the whole world, I get to see the good and the bad. There are people who have done great things and, sadly, there are people who have created tragedy and grief as a result of their actions. Unfortunately, bad things happen to good people even though it is no fault of their own.
One of the my very special Christmas traditions is my wish for the world. You do not have to go far to see people who are homeless, hungry, sick, injured, depressed, lonely, affected by war and terror. My wish is for the world to be a place where everybody is happy and treated equally, where there is peace and prosperity for all.
Do you see things that make you thankful for what you have? I do. I do not despair at the state of the world for there are many other things that give me hope. What gives me the most hope for the future is the young people of the world. You have a very positive outlook of how you want the world to be, a better place for all, and the majority of you have a commitment and dedication to making this happen and that takes more than just the magic of Christmas.
Let’s see how much change we will get this year. What do you do to make the world a better place?
The countdown has started and what is thrilling is the anticipation and reality that the magic of Christmas does make people happy.
Love to you all
Santa
