Canon EOS 250D | 35mm | 1/100s | f/16 | ISO 100 Taken on 24/02/2020. Rugged landscapes set in wild and uncontaminated nature are abound in Calabria — the tip of Italy's boot. The whole region boasts a kind of scenery that Calabrians can be very proud of. And you can see why in these two panoramic snapshots I took during my long weekend break in Crotone. Too much focus has been placed on Calabria's long history of poverty and Mafia activity, which was precisely advertised as such by #easyjet unfortunately. I say 'unfortunately' because, too often or not, sloppy generalisations are carelessly made without actually visiting the place in question — a lesson we could all learn from. The fact is – as intrepid, well-travelled people like me would know – Calabria is a wonderful and welcoming region that is blessed with underrated, unknown panoramas that will take your breath away. So if you're looking for dramatic coastlines, glistening turquoise sea and enchanting medieval villages – all wrapped in the warm and welcoming hospitality of the Calabrian people – look no further than Calabria!
