Join So I Made You A Mixtape’s First Secret Santa Exchange! #SantaSIMYAM
Happy Holidays y’all! We thought we’d do something a bit different this year by hosting an official SIMYAM Secret Santa Mixtape Exchange.
How is this different from normal SIMYAM rounds?
You’ll still be sending a custom mixtape of your own creation to a blogger friend. However, this time, instead of us being in charge of organizing and partnering up people, we’ll be leaving it up to Elfster, a gift exchange platform.
1. RSVP through Elfster.com to join. It’s totally free! Make sure you add your physical and email addresses to your profile when you join so your matchup can send you their mix. Also put in your Tumblr or blog URL if you have one. Only the person who is matched up with you will be able to see your information.
Note: Elfster has some features that aren’t applicable for our exchange, so feel free to avoid the Wish List option when it prompts you do to so.
2. Get Your Match. The registration cut-off day is November 30 (!). After that, Elfster will draw names. You will receive an email with your matchup’s name the next day.
3. Send your mixtape so they receive it by December 18th. The theme of your mix can be whatever you like! Holiday, winter or even just songs you’re digging right now. Make sure you include a card with a nice message and your tracklist. You can also choose to wrap it up and fill your package with candy or other holiday goodies. Make it your own!
December 18th #SantaSIMYAM Party
On December 18th, take a picture of the mixtape you received and post it to Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram. If you want to upload the mix and publish it via Spotify, that works too. Hashtag it with #SantaSIMYAM.
After that, go ahead and reveal yourself to the person you gave your gift to and spread some holiday cheer. Making mixtapes and making friends is sure to give you the warm fuzzies.
