Got a call this morning to do an impromptu interview by Joel Grover, investigative reporter from NBC news. He is covering the effects of the toxic fumes from Woolsey fires which originated from Santa Susana Field Lab site where a disastrous partial nuclear meltdown happened about 60 years ago....which hasn’t been cleaned up yet. We spoke about the implications to our health. He wanted to know what I do as a holistic practitioner to keep safe from the side effects of inhaling these toxic fumes. Hello all friends and family. Thank you for all the well wishes via texts, phone calls and IG comments. My family and I are safe, far from the fire. I just want to be clear that the videos I posted yesterday were not shot by me (video credits are in that post). Nor are they representative of my personal experience with this fire. I posted them out of awe for what was happening in my home area the day after my family and I mandatory evacuated Agoura Hills on Thursday night. We played it as safe as possible with the kids, packed up irreplaceables, and left while the fire was still ridges inland of our street and our route out was still totally clear of fire and traffic. By the time we settled in to @billkiely’s in Hermosa Beach, 15 or more homes were on fire back in our neighboring town of Oak Park. Come morning the fire had jumped the 101 fwy at our exit as it marched toward the coast. Luckily our condo complex was spared in the fire’s path. But there’s a guilty pain to say that when so many people have lost their homes between the fire’s origin near the toxic waste site of the #SantaSusanaFieldLab and its continued blaze in the Malibu region.
