i’m crying bc like, imagine maggie spending the night at alex’s so regularly at first she has a little overnight bag but then she has her own drawer and an extra toothbrush and then one morning maggie wanted to wear one of her shirts that’s at her apartment and she throws her hands up in frustration bc she won’t have time to get it before work and she just goes ‘ugh it would be so much easier if i just lived here!’

and alex spills the coffee she’s pouring and is just like ‘um uh yeah sure if you wanted to we couldmoveintogethersureyeahthatsathing’ and maggie doesn’t even realise what she’s said bc she still just wants that one shirt but she thinks about it and alex’s place is closer to both their works and alex’s bed is infinitely more comfortable than hers and waking up to alex every single morning is the single greatest thing that maggie can think of

I think the headcannon about maggie letting alex protect her is actually very canon, those bts pics where alex has her arms around maggie shoulders all the time (even when it was chy and flo haha) it's such a dominant/protector move, I was expecting alex to be the super cheesy romantic one but boooooooy maggie is far gone on that road, she's the biggest romantic soft out there while alex is beating down aliens at the bar to find out where maggie is

Also, I was sooooooo thrilled to see those pictures with her arm not only around her shoulder, but slung around it (true, we won’t know until the episode airs if that was Chyler or Alex lol!), because like… interracial relationships in media are soooo often portrayed where the brown girl has to be the tough one, the protector, all the time (putting aside the possibility of switching, both in bed and in the relationship generally, which I think both Alex and Maggie do), and it’s just amazing to be able to anticipate the white girl taking care of and doting on the brown girl for a change, like damn.

you see, at first i thought maggie was the Trash Child of the relationship, one of those people who only eats sugary cereal ever and lives on candy and has a messy af desk at work. basically, i thought maggie was a lesbian jake peralta.

BUT NOW i understand that alex is the Trash Child and kara is her enabler and maggie makes her do things like eat vegan ice cream and go to yoga and make dry af plain bagel toast.

maggie’s idea of a fun snack is like fucking celery with plain hummus and she eats it happily and kara and alex throw cheetos at her. maggie suggests organic frozen yoghurt for dessert and kara almost cries.

alex and kara try to meet her halfway by buying maggie like organic candy and she pretends to love it but secretly she hates and just gives it to all of her coworkers’ kids when they come into the precinct

J’onn always wins best dressed, bc he just transforms into other people

Alex goes as Kara. Maggie goes as Cat Grant, calls Alex Kiera all night. Real Kara responds out of habit.

Lena shows up in a bald cap and is clearly supposed to be Lex. Everybody pauses for a second and there’s dead silence, and then they all start pissing their pants laughing. She’s invited back the next year.  

Maggie dressed as Lexa. Alex comes out of the bedroom, ALSO dressed as Lexa, ‘we can’t BOTH be Lexa'. Maggie pours them shots. 'We'll let the spirits decide'.  

Kara retaliates to years of Halloween abuse, goes as Alex, does the most perfect imitation, flirts with maggie all night as a cherry on top.

Vasquez wears normal clothes and an eyepatch, deadpans ‘I’m a pirate now fuck off’ whenever someone asks about her costume (she doesn’t like Halloween very much)

look, i love sanvers as much as the next gal, but we were sorta #robbed of that slow burn and everything that could’ve happened. kara being the most supportive sister ever and trying to set alex up on dates, going with her to gay bars, the works. 

we missed out on maggie and alex being friends and alex talking to maggie about her love life and about her latest date and the little jealous looks maggie keeps throwing. maggie lying about having a girlfriend because she wants to make alex jealous too but alex suggests they go on a double date and maggie has to find someone to take with her. maggie spending all night sorta bagging out alex’s date and when alex confronts her about it everything comes pouring out and alex is just like ‘oh’ and maggie’s like ‘yeah’ and then there’s this awkwardness around them for a few days because alex doesn’t know what to do; she doesn’t want to hurt her girlfriend but also it’s maggie her best friend who she’s had feelings for since forever. 

and then alex shows up really angry at maggie’s apartment (drenched bc it’s raining outside of course) and yells at her, saying how unfair it is that she sprung this on alex, how alex was perfectly fine living with how things were, how she had to deal with maggie’s rejection once already and how maggie was just plain rude on their date and then maggie just steps forward and kisses alex and then they fall even more in love those stupid lesbians

What's your favorite Sanvers headcanon

My fave sanvers headcanon is that Alex was nervous about introducing Maggie to Eliza because she’s hyperaware that Maggie doesn’t have a relationship with her own parents, so Alex kinda doesn’t want to rub Eliza in her face. So she keeps putting off their meeting until she comes home one day and Maggie and Eliza are sitting at the kitchen counter laughing together (at Alex’s expense duh) and she realizes that Maggie just fits so perfectly into her life

(And also she becomes Eliza’s favourite daughter almost instantaneously)

i think the only time maggie has ever resented kara - and will ever resent kara - was when alex took that phone call and left. as much as she understands alex’s relationship with her sister, she wishes that alex could’ve held her for just a moment longer
