the songs from Spring Awakening if they were non-musical theatre songs
this took a super long time and even though Spring Awakening is a rock musical, this was deceptively hard. because I like to torture myself more than I need to, I only allowed myself, or at least tried, to use songs in the style of the show (70s folk and 90s-early 2000s alternative rock/singer-songwriter styles). if I couldn’t find a song with both the correct lyrics and the correct feel, which by the way was super rare, I went more with the feel of the song.

Touch Me: Lover, You Should've Come Over by Jeff Buckley - "maybe I'm too young / to keep good love from going wrong / but tonight you're on my mind so you'll never know / I'm broken down and hungry for your love / with no way to feed it"

The Mirror Blue Night: Devil in the Details by Bright Eyes - "well, I made amends / in the general sense / but the devil's in the details / and I know the cause / but I can't do it / I just can't do it / there was love I meant / there were accidents"
