hey I want to get into puyo puyo... how would I go about doing that??? (i have the new game for the switch and im confused about the story! please help!)

well huh! Haha ok so people do get confused about the story in the Tetris game - which I’m not aware of since my friends who first got into it the same way never told me that. (WELL SEGA THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FOR STARTING THIS WHOLE MESS OF DIMENSIONS CROSSOVER AND JUGGLING SO MANY CHARACTERS AND PROTAGS ALL AT ONCE AND-)

Ahem ANYWAY! 

Since you’re not familiar with most of the puyo characters and trying to understand the story in Tetris more, I’d suggest starting Fever 1 game first. After that, play these in order: Fever 2, 15th Anniversary and 7!
