usually if you wait for a minute or so when it freezes the spinning loading symbol thing will appear and that means that it has been saved and you can close the app !
each time i waited for a few minutes and two instances where the little loading symbol didnt even show up, and the one where it did still didnt save my pokemon once it was done spinning D:
also it just happened again as i was writing, but this time it froze on the zoomed up pokeball and it DID save so. unless those others were going to be misses or something? idk 8′)
