I’m sure that one day I’ll be enough for someone. But for now it feels good to know that I’m enough for myself. I’ve gone through a lot and made a LOT of mistakes but I’ve corrected every one and I’m on a good path and in a good place. Im gonna be okay.
A (horrifically sappy) Fallout 4 vignette...
So I probably won’t have the energy or focus to write a proper fanfic any time soon, and I honestly haven’t gotten that far with the companion in question, but for some reason I can see this scene so clearly in my head:
(Warning: this is so friggin’ sappy...)
The Sole Survivor (Gordon, who in my virgin playthrough is the boyest scout to ever scout) is chilling with the companions somewhere and makes a joke comparing his experiences in the Commonwealth to The Wizard of Oz (because I just can’t not see it). He winds up having to explain the plot it to the post-War peoples, and one of them (probably Piper or MacCready) calls bullshit “Sure, Emerald City. Right. You’re making that up.” He insists, telling them to ask any pre-War ghoul about it.
So he then, completely without irony, starts singing “Over the Rainbow”. Initially it’s just as evidence, but he just kind of gets into it and keeps singing. And Preston is mesmerized... Gordon’s voice isn’t special, but he’s singing with his whole heart and Preston just has this look on his face like he’s thinking “This is why I love this man...” And Gordon notices Preston looking, doesn’t realize the look is because of him, but smiles anyway, because Preston is looking at him.
And Nick and Danse both quietly think it’s adorable, Codsworth is overcome, and Curie is beaming, but MacCready and Piper are both trying so hard not to lose their shit watching, because how are these two even real?
(For the curious, in this metaphor Preston was the Scarecrow, Danse was the Tin Woodsman, and MacCready was the Cowardly Lion lol)
Talked with my first boyfriend on Facebook. He still doesn't want me thinking Im any less than a wonderful person. I don't know if I'll find someone willing to love me as much as he did again
pretend it’s complete and I’ll pretend it’s enough
you can’t look me in the eyes because we’re both afraid we’ll just plain lose our minds and kiss until we’re wrenched apart so I just gaze at your hair and the way it falls upon your cheek instead.
it’s the color of love. I was never a fan of using such strange and abstract things as colors yet here I am, confronted with your kaleidoscope, lost for words. I call it the color of love because I’m not intelligent enough to know a word that describes it adequately.
the way you whisper I love you like it’s your last breath makes me want to whisper it back except it’s not enough. I want to say something more something more grand than I love you but I don’t know what.
given time I would write until all the ink in this pen dried up.
this poem is only incomplete because I can’t find the words.
