omg johanna...thoughts on peraltiago

never heard of ‘em 💀

i don’t even really remember when i started shipping about peraltiago or what i thought about them when i first watched the show in 2017 other than i just thought they were neat ❤️but when i rewatched the show in 2018 and became active in this fandom during the leadup to their wedding i just fell in love with them. i wrote a couple of fics and then bam i was stuck on them. the otp to rule them all.

i think part of why i love them so much is because i see myself so much in amy. and seeing her and jake, and the way the show portrays them, where he loves her so much – not despite, but because of – her nerdy and sometimes awkward qualities, made me believe that maybe someone could love me like that, one day. it made me realise how much i want someone like jake, who is maybe slightly messy but who can relax me and joke with me.

but i also just love the way they’re portrayed. this ultimate respect they both have for each other. how much they just love hanging out. the way they would do anything for the other one. how hot they both are <3 and that they are, for sure, one of the healthiest couples portrayed in a television show in the history of ever and they’re literally never boring. i mean i wished they’d kiss more in front of the camera but there’s always fic thankfully.

i always think about the andy samberg quote when he described it as they’re so different on the surface, but beneath that, there’s this thing that’s exactly the same, and makes it all worth it. 

they’ve been my ultimate comfort and saved me so many times, but they’re also just... objectively perfect.
