Lima Lima Limaaaa - you have pleasantly surprised me with your swanky neighborhoods, pristine parks and perfect temperature water.
Lizzie and I stayed in a neighborhood called Miraflores. If you’re a foodie, this is the place to be. Our hostal overlooked Parque Kennedy and I felt like we ate at about every restaurant possible.
The best place we ended up going was called Saqra. Lizzie got a tip from a coworker to try this place out and boy oh boy it didn’t let us down. The first picture is the ceviche from Saqra… Dripping in lime juice, onions, gigantic corn and sweet potatoes for a mouthtastic combo. Every dish we ate blew us away. I would recommend Saqra to anyone!
The second picture shows the second neighborhood we hung out in called Barranco. I would say this is the twin sister to Miraflores that has more of a beach feel with palm trees and teenagers skateboarding.
Lastly, the best and by far our favorite thing to do in Lima was go to the beach. The sand is more like dirt but the water is perfect. The rock picture is from the surfers beach which we deemed was way too intense for our amateur selves. Instead, we plopped on the beach called “Yuyos” where people sell you EVERYTHING. Immediately we were sold beach chairs, umbrellas, matts, churros, pollo sandwiches, cervesas.. Total cost under $10.
Goodbye Lizzie and goodbye Lima! I will miss you both!
Off to Huaraz tonight!
