Unlikely pair-ups, bromances & couples we ship… #7 (Part 4)
Holy smokes it’s been a long while since I continued this but that’s what I get for having way too many folders within folders within folders... Anyway, back to the good stuff - more Sara and Fujita interactions for your age-gap needs!
Even though Fujita tries to play it cool, he definitely know what to say to make Sara happy - you can’t convince me that he didn’t know how she would interpret his invitation to go on a trip with him. And the cutest thing? The way Sara respects Fujita’s rules regarding entering the garage but still manages to give him a hug anyway!
“Shut up and follow me.” You’d think that Fujita was bring rather harsh with Sara, but she gives as good as she gets and throws those same words right back at him! It’s the maintenance of the balance between them that I like so much! He may, technically, have more authority but she certainly knows how to put him in his place!
Did I mention that she’s not afraid to voice her opinion and put him in his place? Lol! And the nice thing is that he is (usually) mature enough not to fight with her too much about it.
Lol! Sara and her old man... His age might get the best of him from time to time, but there’s no doubt that the two of them do make for a pretty picture together. They may have a lot of differences between them but when it comes to style, they’re both on point!
Sometimes it’s more like Sara is his housekeeper/babysitter than his assistant. But there’s definitely a big level of comfort and trust between them - as evidenced by the fact that neither he, nor she, has a problem with getting a little physical - even if it’s just a not-so-harmless massage. Fujita should have just answered Sara and spared himself that smack on the butt! Lol!

Back with some more Sara x Fujita moments for you (or more like, for me since I probably get the most joy from making these posts)! Anyway, without further delay...
This is probably the part I love most about Sara - she’s totally upfront about her feelings for Fujita and makes absolutely no excuses and never denies that she loves that old man!
Just a cute moment where Sara getting up to a little mischief on her own isn’t a bad thing every now and then. It’s good to keep the guy guessing from time to time... And it obviously worked since Fujita was the one who ended looking for her instead! Hehe!
A beautiful view and a meal for two. I like that they make the time and take the time to have meals together and just chat about things going on in the day.
Her face. Although he’s got his flaws, to her, he is everything she ever wanted. <3
I’ll leave it at this for now since the next series of pics are sort of related to each other. But stay tuned for more! ‘Cos you know there’ll definitely be more...
Unlikely pair-ups, bromances & couples we ship… #7 (Part 2)
Ahhh, every time I start going through these pictures I’m reminded why I love this show so much. Interesting cases and this amazing age gap romance. So let me share with you some of the moments I loved the most.
Warning: most of the posts like these are definitely not spoiler free so avert your eyes if you want to experience it for yourself. If you’re intrigued though, please do read on.
First up - just a collection of various shots of the two together. The thing I like about them is that because they both have international backgrounds/ experience (Sara being from another country and Fujita having trained in various countries around the world), these two don’t see anything wrong with working closely together - even in the physical sense.
He’s like that old guy that wants to mould his younger partner to his liking, but alas, he’s found a strong, independent woman who openly expresses her thoughts and doesn’t mind scolding her man from time to time.
Did I mention something about openly expressing herself and scolding him? Fujita has his fair number of shady acquaintances - ladies included - but he can’t get away with much when Sara is around. To be fair, he isn’t really interested in other women (unless it’s for business) but when it comes to potential “rivals”, Fujita knows Sara goes ballistic! But rather than chide her for behaving like a child or fobbing her off, he tries to prove his innocence and calm her down. And if that doesn’t work, then he immediately neutralises the situation by grabbing his lady and making a run for it! These interactions are gold because they are just so damn cute together!
This open honesty between them is just so refreshing. Rather than being tsundere about it, or pining away secretly while her feelings get hurt, Sara is pretty straightforward about finding out exactly what Fujita is thinking when it comes to the romance department. And Fujita, rather than treating her as a child and deigning not to talk with her about it, addresses her in a serious, if somewhat embarrassed, way, calling her “silly” when she asks about whether he likes her, but never rejecting her outright.
Never afraid to speak her mind or get in a tiff with Fujita, Sara is probably one of the most honest people around Fujita (which is actually quite rare considering what business he’s in). But I like that when they fight, they aren’t passive aggressive about it. They get it all out there, have their disagreement and learn to move past it without holding too many grudges. Because at the end of the day, they really only have each other to rely on on a day-to-day basis.
The interactions between these two is endearing, cute, amusing, entertaining, a little heart-breaking here and there and I love every minute!
Unlikely pair-ups, bromances & couples we ship... #7 (Part 1)
Finding old flash drives is like finding a time capsule containing all the ideas you had at the time that you wanted to execute. Well, that’s what’s happened to me so now I’m going to try and change those ideas into posts and I know I’m going to have fun as I do it!
So this next couple that I absolutely adore is from a less-than-mainstream anime called Gallery Fake that I watched a while back. I love me a good age gap romance so this show is just perfect because it’s in that stage where the girl is doing the pursuing and the guy sort of plays along but at times he dances around the topic. Sure, he might seem like a wishy-washy guy for not making a firm commitment but part of the fun is watching how they flirt with each other and become closer to each other with each episode. The main characters are Fujita Reiji (a Japanese art dealer who dabbles in black market trades) and Sara Halifa (a Middle Eastern heiress who is Fujita’s assistant - and probably closest friend/confidant) and watching them together just makes me smile.
As his assistant, Sara sometimes has to accompany Fujita to art-related auctions and soirees. And of course, both look dressed to impress in black tie affair. I reckon they look quite good together, and no - that hand on her shoulder did not escape my eye!
Sara first encounters Fujita while trying to track down a piece of art that was stolen from her family’s collection. And like a knight in black market armour, Fujita eventually offers to help this young girl - especially after seeing what lengths she went to to try and protect when she had it.
Fujita always manages to find himself being taken care of/nagged by Sara - whether it means her doing the cleaning around the gallery, making him something to eat, complaining about his lifestyle habits or trying to get him out of jail. All in a day’s work for Sara when she’s privy to all the less-than-kosher deals Fujita makes.
Even though it might not always go her way, she’s not really phased. And when going to visit Fujita, she knows exactly what to do to cheer him up. It’s like they’re an old married couple but don’t even know it! But the one thing I admire about her is how open, honest and direct she is regarding her feelings for Fujita. That’s right Fujita - kiss that girl!
Even though Fujita usually comes off as a guy who doesn’t really give Sara the time of day in the romance department, you’ve just got read between the lines to see that he does care for Sara in his own way and will usually indulge her when she really wants something. How can he say no when she’s so earnest about it?
Nothing says “age gap” like a glaring difference in athleticism and fitness! These moments are particularly hilarious as it seems to play on Fujita’s mind just how much of a difference there is between him and his young and very fit assistant, Sara. But even if she’s a few steps ahead, she will never leave him behind. And when it comes to banter - she gives as good as she gets!
This is the end of part 1 of this pairing’s post, but I will definitely get around to posting more about them. And apart from just the shipping, this actually a really nice anime so give it a watch if you get a chance!
