As we approach a big announcement regarding our Sponsored Artist Search for 2018, this seems like a good time to present a retrospective of the artists we have sponsored so far. We don't want to brag (much) but we think we're getting pretty good at this whole "picking amazing, up-and-coming artists" thing. We think you'll agree. . With a bit more time to plan and prepare, heading into 2015, KWF did a more formal, full-fledged artist search. . Among the many applicants, @sarakdiesel was the stand-out, and this talented young woman was selected to exhibit at San Diego Comic Con 2015 as our Sponsored Artist. . Among other things, Sara has gone on to illustrate a popular H.P. Lovecraft anthology cover, and through contacts made via the foundation, Sara was contracted by @mondotees to design a collectible statue of Alucard from Castlevania. . The main image here, Xunantunich ("Stone Lady"), which hung in a gallery show in New York for the Society of Illustrators, was created by Sara for KWF. .
