Ah, rent-a-girlfriend. The very expensive way to take a girl out all so one doesn’t have to feel the sting and burdens that come with loneliness. For Yusuke it was soo he could get his mother off his back about him not taking anyone out. She never did say he’d have to make any type of commitment, but if he never has to hear the ‘you’re in your early twenties you should be dating’ speech for awhile then he’d put the yen on the table in exchange for some peace.
But surprisingly enough the little breakfast date went off without a hitch, the woman was beautiful, nice and he hoped he never bored her during the date, as Yusuke, of course had stories under his belt to tell. For this time he shared the few stories of him finding a cat that belonged to an important figure in the yakuza, and there was also the story of that time he helped a little girl raise enough money to help her sick relative.
Both rather far-fetched, so it was up to her to decide whether she’d believe these stories to be factual or just him playing himself up. “I’m not really in-line with how this works..am I allowed t’ ask what your hobbies are??” He spoke softly with both his hands tucked in his pockets. There was still time before the official hour of their date ending so he decided to take her out on a walk once the bill at the diner was paid.
None of them knew it yet, but somewhere not too far away from them fate was going to intervene in their little date, however, for now, within a Yokohama’s little league field, there was a team doing practice drills before their big game. Their coach was missing, but their team captain was ever vigilant of them getting their training in, and so he called for the team to have a little mock game among themselves as a way to practice for the real one.
