I spent some time at the Hall today - partly waiting for Adam from Pomonal Estate to bring back our High Tea stands which they'd borrowed for Mother's Day at the winery. Once I'd done some housekeeping, I finished the latest section on my apron. I added steam above the jug after I took the photo. I laid the apron out on the floor to get a photo of the whole thing, but of course it doesn't all fit in the square format.🙄You can see, though, that I have quite a lot more to stitch over! Last year @sarah_crowest And @araratgallerytama provided aprons - strap on paintings - to a number of stitches to embellish as they wished as part of Sarah's exhibition at the newly refurbished gallery. The apron is a large rectangle of fabric with 2 big pockets and straps for wearing and for hanging. My ambition is the cover the whole surface in time. I've recently added new stitches and sewn on old clothing labels. I have acquired quite a collection of embroidered tea towels - most of them never washed, let alone used. I have copied the design from one of them onto my @sarah_crowest strap-on painting/apron, as part of my plan to work over the entire surface eventually. I had to switch the black to a pale grey, or it would have been invisible.
