Another Japril Rant (S14)
I. Just. Don't. Understand. Why. They. Can't. Be. Together. And I'm mostly ranting to Shonda and the entire writing team of this shit show because I KNOW that if Jackson and April were real people somewhere in a real Greys Anatomy world... there's no doubt they'd still be together.
Why? BECAUSE IT BLOODY MAKE SENSE. Their bond. Their love. Their trust in each other. Their friendship. Their struggles. Their trials. Their connection. It's all too good to throw away. And I'm pretty sure any one would recognize that. Any one who isn't Shonda Rhimes...
Jackson and April are so imperfectly perfect together it's frankly ridiculous. In my opinion they were the most dynamic couple on the freaking show. Out of everyone (yes, I'm talking about Meredith and Derek- sue me) Jackson and April had the deepest love for each other. Why? Because they started as friends. There wasn't sex involved or hidden feelings, it was pure adult friendship. The kind that encourages vulnerability and trust. They leaned on each other. Looked out for each other. They had each other's backs. They were each other's person. They already loved each other. And then, of course, that love grew...
Jackson and April experienced LIFE together. Real. Life. They went through trial after trial. Heartache after heartache. They dealt with their own individual differences and disagreed time and time again. There was a season (I can't remember which) but to me it felt like all they did was fight. What other couple on this show fought as much as Jackson and April did? Okay maybe Alex and Izzie.... but to be fair Alex is an argumentative person by nature so I don't think that really counts lol.
MY POINT. Their relationship was complicated. But that's what relationships are! Are they not? Their relationship wasn't perfect. What relationship is?!? Yes, they fought a lot ... But their differences shouldn't determine their destiny.
Now let's take a minute and reflect upon their GOOD moments and memories.... The scenes that touched our hearts and reminded us what true love looked like. The scenes that brought tears to our eyes or made us so bubbily and giddy we could barely contain ourselves... I could write a freaking novel when it comes to the good Jackson and April represented. But I won't. I trust that you know the scenes that I'm referring to:)
It's a damn shame to know that according to Greys Anatomy, Jackson and April will never be... Frankly, I'm a little embarrassed because they could have written one of the greatest love stories TV has ever seen. They could have done it. It could have been theirs. But I guess I'll have to finish it up in my head... and that's depressing as hell.
So here's to all of my Japril shippers out there... I see you... I feel you... I'm with you...
