literature + English
hi! thanks so much for the asks-- i saw that you were from the PNW and i got really excited! i stalked your instagram and saw that you were accepted to the University of Washington!! congrats from one husky to another (maybe?)! ahem, sorry, i was just so excited to find another person from the west coast and that might go to my uni!!literature: a book that changed you forever
well, i haven’t really had the time to read for fun in forever...but back when i did read a ton i really loved The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. i don’t actually know how many times i’ve read it but one quote from it really stuck with me: “Somewhere, far down, there was an itch in his heart, but he made it a point not to scratch it. He was afraid of what might come leaking out.”
english: your favourite word and why
my favorite word has to be mochi. not only do i love the food, but it reminds me of my childhood where my great grandparents had a farm and we would stroll through the gardens and make mochi in their basement with the rest of the family. i miss bachan and jichan a lot.

Hi there! I hope this is not too much to ask but for my health of populations class in uni, I have to do a community engagement project about US health in comparison to other countries. I'm doing a little quiz to try to raise awareness about US health and was hoping if you could please take it and let your followers know. Here's the link: forms (.) gle/Zns6hDj8ySn4FVHc8 and it closes 03/08 (rly last min, i know, sorry!!). If not, that’s okay too! Thanks!
Hey! No problem at all! I completed the form now and I’ll answer this publically so that others might see it. Let me know if you’d rather I share it in a different way :)

I like the upper right one
thanks kathy!! <3
hey! you asked about why sales tax isn't included in the price in the u.s. I've been told the reason is because adding tax in makes it look more expensive ($14.99 vs $16.48 if using 10% sales tax, which is the highest tax rate in my state) so even though people know it'd cost $16.48 anyway, putting it at $14.99 is more appealing. Some states don't have sales tax though.
Thanks for explaining! It still seems strange to me, but I guess I can see the marketing tactic.
Betelgeuse, Canopus, Centaurus!!! c: (pssssssssst i hope ur doing very very well!!)
Betelgeuse: What’s something you can never forget about?
I don’t know if this means a constant thought, but I’m going to interpret it as a memory. When I was little, maybe six or seven, my family went back to my hometown to visit family for Thanksgiving, and my uncle and I came up with this game called “The Farmer and the Turkey”, in which one person was a turkey, who had to go hide an axe (we were in the somewhat rural Midwest, so it wasn’t entirely uncommon to have one), and then hide themselves. The farmer would count while the turkey hid, and would have to go find the axe and then the turkey. So basically just hide-and-seek with an extra step, but it was really fun for some reason.
Canopus: Have you ever broken a bone?
Thankfully, no. *knock on wood*
Centaurus: Favourite holiday?
Christmas day is usually miserable for me, but I love the Christmas season! Something about the lights, music, wrap-up on a semester, parties, baked goods, and presents changes everyone, just for a few weeks, but it’s so lovely. Not to mention seasonal wonders like The Nutcracker! It’s such a lovely season that fills me with so much excitement, and I believe this year I’ll have a good Christmas day too (:
