I am excited to announce that my gender project, In Between & Outside, is on the front page of CNN's Photo Blog...what an honor to be featured. Thank you everyone for your support, and looking forward to what the future holds. Read more about it here: http://cnnphotos.blogs.cnn.com/2014/02/09/from-hayley-to-harrison-transitioning-to-a-man/
This is why I love photography- it has power to change the world, connect people, and most importantly, instead of breeding ignorance and hate-it can educate. I never imagined that In Between & Outside (which I began in 2010) would grow so much, or that my collaboration with the wonderful Harrison (2011) would come so far.
Through doing this work, I have grown immensely and hope that I've helped open people's minds. I'm SO happy and blessed have met and photographed so many beautiful and strong people, and to know that people are learning about gender and identity in a positive light. There is nothing wrong with being who you are.

"I would describe myself as a gay male. I think gender is on a sliding scale, not in a box. I also think that the lines of gender can easily be blurred and almost should be blurred. I think drag as an art form that forces you to see a person in a different gender visually."
