Oh man that’s a tough one. The one most likely to try (Maxwell Alexander) would just buy it. I’m gonna say Karl Vendellag for now, but his character isn’t super fleshed-out yet.

23) Will laugh as they kill you

The most applicable ones are wrought with spoilers, but I think I can mention Julianos, the “Butcher of Greyhaven” without worry.

It’s not like I am a fan of your work or anything.” Maxwell Alexander’s lightly accented voice trilled through the quiet office, and Admiral Harker forced himself to raise his head again, resting it in his hands.The richest man in human history stood before him, wearing nothing but a neon-pink clown mask jockstrap and a torn green t-shirt bearing the logo of the New Goa Colonial Authority and a scrawl of text written in Greylic which roughly translated to “It Isn’t a Party until Human Cop Officers make Brutal Entrance.”Harker sighed again. “You don’t have some sort of transport to take you down to Olympia?”

“They wouldn’t let me on the military shuttles because -”“Because you’re barely wearing clothes.”“- they’re assholes and have no respect for authority.”“They’re… Mr. Alexander, they’re Republic Marines. No one in the system has as much respect for authority as they do.”

“Not true. Those nice people I gave a lift a few days ago were very respectful.”“You gave a lift to people?” Harker pointedly looked Maxwell up and down, eyebrows raised.  “In your condition?”

Maxwell scratched his chin and the several-days-worth of grey stubble sprouting there. “Well. I had my ship at the time.”“Speaking of which, where is it now? How did you even get here without a ship? Nevermind that this is Olympia Base itself, and you technically shouldn’t even have clearance to land, let alone be in my office.”

“Is that really important right now?” Maxwell adjusted his clown-faced thong.

Admiral Harker put his head back down on his desk. “I wish none of this was important.”

Oh its so hard to choose. Hmmm. Let’s do Coriolanus, since I haven’t talked about my poor gay baby at all on here.

#2: “How easy is it for your character to laugh?”

Cori’s presence in the story is mostly as the sole light in the early life of his best friend/eternal love, Silas. Cori is a bright beacon of levity and happiness and almost nothing could extinguish that.

#12: “How do they deal with an itch in a place that is hard to reach?”

Ask Silas to scratch it. 

#22: “How does jealousy manifest in them?”

I think I’m gonna give this a “Read and Find Out”

#32: “Do they have a go-to story in conversation? A joke?”

Yes, but it contains minor spoilers so I probably shouldn’t post it.

#42: “How badly do they want to reach their end goal?”

Cori is more than willing to give his body and soul to accomplish his end goal. The means are only superficial, the cause is righteous, and the pain of failing to achieve the goal would be widespread and biting - not just to Cori but to those he loves.

D: “Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?”

Cori doesn’t have a fully defined appearance in my mind yet. Brown hair, a rich darkness to his skin, hazel eyes, and slightly below average height. All I really have settled is that he’s friend-shaped.

E: “Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you?”

Of all my characters, Cori is probably the one with whom I’d get along with best. We have similar personalities and we’re both pretty gay for Silas so we’ve got that in common. Add in similar worldviews and the ability to REALLY hold a grudge and we’d probably talk for hours and hours and hours. He’d never forgive me for certain things that occur over the course of the story, but that’s true for most - if not all - of my characters.

#30/B (Denia), #38/A (Lady Layne Nichols), and #13/F (Maxwell Alexander)

DENIA

#30: “Who do they most regret meeting?”

As far as she can remember, no one. Granted, she lost her memory very recently, so that doesn’t really say much. Denia is a very forward-moving woman anyway and she isn’t really one to hang onto regrets. Certain people do frustrate her, but it would unfortunately be too spoilery to say exactly who.

B: “What inspired you to create them?”

A severe lack of female main characters in my stories. I took a step back and realized that 90% of my main characters were far too close to the white fuckboi fantasy hero stereotype, so I dug into rewriting and building new stories to allow for more representation. Ultimately, Denia was the product of a playthrough of Skyrim where I played a Nord Woman with a warhammer and full heavy armor. Knew she had to be included in the story when her first hit with the hammer was a critical hit one-shot on a Frost Troll.

LADY LAYNE NICHOLS-CALBURN

#38: “What memory do they revisit often?”

Oh goodness there are a few. Probably the best is the moment she realized she was in love with her now Husband, Hatham. Counts for double because she was observing the coronation of King Daron at the time. Together the three of them would eventually become the trio that would build a nation, and that moment was the catalyst.

A: “Why are you excited about this character?”

Layne is the foil for Denia. Whereas Denia finds her strength in her muscles, her fighting ability, her tactical and strategic skill, and her talent for deductive reasoning, Layne’s strength lies in her grace, her persuasiveness, her unmatched intellect, and her ability to deceive. It’s the same difference between Layne and her husband, and I’m so excited to see both relationships play out on the page.

#13: “What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?”

Red or Blue and, surprisingly, yeah he fuckin rocks it. For an older man at least.

F: “What do you feel when you think of your OC?”

Ohoho, nothing but eagerness. For a secondary character he has SO much weight and impact on the page. Might have to give him a viewpoint story at some point.
