First time stepping on ice tonight! 🔓😂 Been wondering why I had to wait for 29 years to do this. I even imagined doing it with my friends, falling on ice, try getting up only to fall flat on my bum again (which all of it happened tonight surrounded by kids and teenagers 😂). Then I thought, experiencing it a bit late in life was worth it because I did it with my classmate Charlie. 😂 . . . At first, I thought I would play the yaya role, stand on the sidelines, push her to not give up and all. But, she showed me otherwise. I was so pleased to see how independent she was in the rink even without knowing how to skate. We fell hard, tried getting up, held on handrails and clinged on to the poor polar bear for dear balance (just how I imagined 😅). She then befriended a little kid named Julia, who was an impressive rookie skater (gave us free tips! I learned how to skate through a 6 year old girl! 😂). I saw her learn and enjoy her time despite how hard (and painful!) it was and I felt proud. But what made me even prouder was her positivity and her willingness to help the other non-skaters. She was sharing what she learned from Julia and reminding them to be careful.👍 For me, it was a milestone. 😊 A moment worth witnessing. 💎🌟 It made me realize that this is probably the reason why I was given this chance just now. I wouldn't have it in any other way. 😊 Keep it up, Charlie! You make me proud! ❤🏆#SarinaChronicles
