One of my favorite things about Charlie Heaton is that he is that very rare man that can pull off wearing shorts. They are the right length and fit and don’t make him look sloppy or under-aged.

it's not the color of his shirt.
it's not even that his jacket is unbuttoned. (i'm actually really glad he left it undone because the vest is great.
it's the break point/fold line.
darren's jackets usually break six to eight inches above his belt, around the bottom of his rib cage. looking at the suit on the right, his vest has three buttons, two and a half to three inches apart. the bottom button his right above his belt, putting the top button seven and half to nine inches above his belt. the jacket button is about an inch lower than the top vest button, or around eight inches above his belt.
in the suit on the right, the vest buttons are at most two inches apart, but are probably closer to one and a half. that put the break point of his vest four and a half to six inches above his belt. then this jacket breaks below the second vest button, probably only an inch or two above his belt.
with the jacket break point nearly at his belt, his figure is divided in half instead of more aesthetically pleasing thirds.
more importantly, what is up with the spread of his collar? 0.o there is no reason for a spread that big. none. not even for an eighties dress up party. but, relevantly, the wide spread of his collar draws the eyes horizontally instead of vertically. it's also too wide for his tie and so his tie knot is pulled apart and looks short and squat.
i totally don't spend hours looking at darren in suits like a creeper. i just spend hours looking at darren in suits like a fashion design student.
p.s. does anyone know who his suit on the right is by? i think it's the most beautiful suit i've ever seen. i spent hours a few minutes looking the night of the time one hundred gala and since then but couldn't find a credit anywhere.
edit!
the lovely stripesofburgundy thinks that suit is armani.
