Can you talk some sense into Jon and tell him to actually talk to Martin to resolve any tension? I've already tried to explain to him the importance of maintaining healthy workplace relationships and why he should be sensitive towards Martin frequently being late for the train. As you may have guessed he did the opposite and blatantly ignored my advice. You seem like one of the few people he may actually listen to, and I think not only Martin but everyone would be happier if you convinced him that he doesn't need an uptight and outwardly professional attitude that more often than not is perceived as condescending and rude by other people. I'm sure he means well, but he could loosen up a bit.
Also, I love your cat-themed background! My cat is currently helping me write this by chewing on my computer's charging cord and attempting to sit on said computer.
I'll try to talk to him, I make no promises though. He and Martin seem to be getting along better these past few days though, Martin even convinced Jon to come out for drinks tonight!
