@sashimiphile: I find watching videos with commentary a good way to be more confident with identifying jumps, esp. when you're a beginner fan, but now that I've become fairly decent at it & have been streaming live competitions for awhile, watching videos with commentary of competitions I first watched live gets on my nerves bc I just cannot stand commentators' input and they dampen my first impression of the skating lol. maybe some of you could learn jumps same way while you can still enjoy those vids? lol
Definitely worth a try! Commentators can be a mixed bag though, they can range from extremely professional and helpful to literally not knowing what they’re talking about, haha. Not all of them call jumps either.
For world, in ice dance, how starting order works for SD ? Do the skaters have to draw ? Or is it the skater with highest overall scores who skate last ? And more precisely I ask for Virtue/Moir (because they come back so their ranking is lower than others but their scores are highest)
The short program draw for Worlds works the same way as for the other ISU Championships; skaters with higher world standings skate in the later groups and skaters with lower world standings skate in the earlier groups, with a random draw to determine their exact order. The order does not depend on season’s best scores. Since Virtue/Moir’s world standing is still quite low due to missing two seasons, they will likely skate in the first half of the short dance event.
So I got the times mixed up for the AWG ladies FS and missed the livestream, and they took down the youtube link and can't watch it there so I was wondering if you knew of any place I can go after the matter to see it that isn't blocked in the US. If you can't find anything it's fine, neither could I, and I still have the SP to look forward to at 3am :)
Do you mean the ladies’ SP? The free skate hasn’t happened yet. There are a few videos of the top ladies here, but not all of them. Some videos from the short dance have been uploaded here.
