I have a question: what movies/tv shows about Rome do you find are the most historically accurate?

To be quite honest, I don’t watch much related to ancient history, but I do have a couple of recommendations based on my experiences and the experiences of lecturers. 

The HBO series Rome is particularly relevant for the period of Caesar to Augustus. 

I, Claudius is a good follow up series, as it gives a reasonably accurate history of the period from the reign of Augustus to Claudius.

Ben Hur (1959) is excellent from a spectacle standpoint, particularly for chariot racing. The religious content is a bit iffy, but that’s not surprising given the period it was produced.

How different is ancient Greek from modern, sorry if this question is beneath you

I am always happy to answer questions! 

I haven’t had the opportunity to study Ancient Greek yet, but from my understanding, it’s very similar to modern Greek in terms of the alphabet, grammar and syntax rules, and even vocabulary. Take a look at this article - it has an interesting theory about why modern Greek is so similar to ancient Greek.

@armageddoninretrospect ah I understand your pain. Everyone from game announcers to other teams messes up our name. Even the CHS Platter on chief Delphi does it (albeit purposefully). It doesn't help that there are so many hawk themed teams in our district. 346, 614, 1111 (us), 2890, 3373, and 4067. It gets confusing, but funny when three of them are all on an alliance together (it's a hawk squad).

I know that was two weeks ago, but it still feels unreal. @squadleaderchase lol you're fine, everyone does it. game announcers, the one award guy who gave us our pit safety award, and other teams. there's a ton of hawk themed teams in the district and it doesn't help that the CHS Platter keeps purposefully mixing up all of our names haha (they've called us the RoboHawks several times I think). In any case, alll of the above to you also!
