have you ever had to 'self-reflect' in Law? If so, any tips?

I haven’t yet, but I am currently in the process of completing an assignment which contains a reflective element at the end.
Not sure what your reflective element is related to but with mine we have to do a full research trail documenting all our steps in our research and provide an ongoing narrative. then at the end we have an evaluative, reflective section where we have to evaluate our research process, how we did, where we went wrong, what we would do next time etc.
In terms of tips I’m not an expert as you can see however I would think the best advice would be to be sincere. Don’t be cliche with what you say. The markers will probably be marking heaps of assignments and many people will likely be saying the same crap and it will be obvious that they are completely BS-ing. You want to stand out from the crowd, but also come across as genuine. So tell the truth.
I also think it’s important to be critical of yourself. Nobody is perfect and the markers know that. If your assignment is research-based and you weren’t particularly efficient with your research then say so, then say how you would improve.
If it’s evaluating say a moot and you weren’t particularly confident of yourself with your public speaking then point that out and then say how you might address this to improve in the future e.g have more practice with mooting, join debating etc.
Having said that, it’s also important I think to point out your strengths. If it was a group activity and you worked well as a group highlight that to the marker!
