Another "Swimmingly" Good Time at Bee Free Boutique
It’s easy to see why people sometimes refer to LA as La La Land. The City of Angels can certainly seem dreamy and paradisiacal, especially in the Spring. It makes me think of that scene from Bambi that goes something like this:
Flower: (referring to two birds fluttering around) Well! What's the matter with them?
Thumper: Why are they acting that way?
Owl: Why, don't you know? They're twitterpated.
Owl: Yes. Nearly everybody gets twitterpated in the springtime. For example: You're walking along, minding your own business. You're looking neither to the left, nor to the right, when all of a sudden you run smack into a pretty face. Woo-woo! You begin to get weak in the knees. Your head's in a whirl. And then you feel light as a feather, and before you know it, you're walking on air. And then you know what? You're knocked for a loop, and you completely lose your head!
Angelenos, take heed. It’s twitterpation season.

You see, one of my favorite crannies in Los Angeles is on Silverlake Boulevard at Effie Street.
Here, Lamill Coffee Boutique (Try the Not Quite French Toast!) and L&E Oyster Bar (Try the chef’s selection with a pilsner!) are the clasps on the heart locket that holds inside the delightful Bee Free Boutique.
If you follow the Swizzle religiously (as you surely devoutedly do, my dear disciples) you know that I discovered Bee Free way back in February, and it is the sacred temple in which I received my start in mobile cocktail services.
Saturday was my fourth event with Bee Free and I decided to hostess a Piscine Bar. Piscine is French for swimming pool, and the cocktail is often sipped in summers on the French Riviera.
My variation? An ounce of Chambord, Xante or Esprit d’ June (raspberry, pear or floral), topped with an ice cube, Sofia sparkling wine and a strawberry.
My accomplice? The lovely Brittany B Crafty (who doubles as the photographer), who baked a smattering of bite-sized cupcakes to the them of lingerie. Tiny bras adored the tops of the tiny cakes, which came in delicious flavors like Girl Scout (Thin Mint - my favorite), Red Velvet and double chocolate.
The feedback? It was nothing short of a midsummer’s afternoon in Monaco.
