you're mumbling to yourself, tugging on your bottom lip in attempt to stay awake. your eyes flutter and slide shut, only to snap open within the next second. you have to read the book your grandfather had left you - had to decode what he was trying to tell you before he left.

shaking your head, you clear your throat and sit up straighter before continuing to read aloud. the moon is shining in on your body, glittering and glowing so prettily it makes you pause.

after a moment, you pry your eyes away from the window and back to your book. only, there's a figure standing in front of you now, watching. you gulp, eyes widening in fear.

"hm." they say. they're studying you, tilting their head this way and that before nodding approvingly. "you have strong genes, little witch."

"i'm not-" you take in a deep breath. had you fallen asleep? or maybe you'd started hallucinating? "who are you? how'd you even get in here?"

they frown before nodding to the book in your hands. "you summoned me, of course. it's a full moon tonight - only time you can."

you shake your head, "i can't summon. i don't practice anything like that. i'm just reading this."

"well," they grin roguishly your way. "i'm satan. and it seems you, little witch, have more power than anyone knows."

Me: huh I'm gonna hafta disappear for like a week, I should share a cute idea for the dead sea au for a change. I know! Reigen becomes Mob's guardian angel after dying and watches over and protects his boy to the best of his abilities :3! My horrible brain: hey remember how people say they meet their guardian angels during near death experienceous? If Mob found out would he deliberately get into deadly situations so he can take to Reigen again :)? Me: oh god why. Sharing the pain, Satan anon <3

Humoring the idea for a second, I think Reigen would be furious once he finds out Mob does it. There’s no “if” in this situation. He would definitely find out. Hell, he might grasp what Mob’s trying to do the very first time he does it. Or! Perhaps it began as an accident and that led to Mob “discovering” Reigen as a guardian angel and then move on to intentional injuries from then on. But, if Mob were to ever do it? Reigen would give him the greatest scolding of his life. And it isn’t just a, “>:( Don’t do that,” situation, it’s grabbing the shoulders in an iron grip, leaning down so Mob can see the rage in Reigen’s eyes face to face, and a harsh, “Don’t ever do that again. That was totally, unbelievably stupid.” I think Reigen is kind, but as an adult, you need to know when to put pressure onto a kid so they can really understand how seriously stupid they’re being. How uncaring and selfish that could be.

However! I don’t even know if Mob would even do it! It’s certainly an angsty situation, but I think that while Mob can be destructive in his emotions, and while his yearning would be real, Mob isn’t stupid, or selfish, and he still has made great strides of “growing up” over the past year. Putting himself in life-threatening situations just to see Reigen puts his family and friends at risk, those trying to save him and the like. Even if you disregarded that, him having the potential of dying can put Mob’s friends/family in the same exact position of mourning that he is in. And I think he’s just too empathetic to do that.
