Fuma x Shori - Looking back on the Heisei era
Shori x Heisei Johnny’s
As the Showa and Heisei era are passing, the image of an idol changed a lot as well. A channel called „Johnny’s Jr. Channel“ was opened up on Youtube and having started using internet as a media, the image of Johnny’s has changed too.
Shori: For example, I think it’s good that my senior was able to open up an account on the Chinese social media website called Weibo. I understand the feeling of wanting to do it. It happened in random order in our case, so I wonder if using SNS might be a little bit different for us. We might start using it in the future as well but we also have our J-Web... Because the Juniors started Youtube the wind of change started blowing, I think it’s cool. The most impressive thing is that Takizawa (Hideaki)-kun produced a MV for SixTONES. Because there was no CD or MV release, that’s why it received so much excitement. I never thought we could achieve something like that in our company.
So, along with the new era, Sexy Zone aims to get on top!
Shori: As I’m living in this era my whole life, I want to get on top here as well. Holding a concert at the Dome or National Stadium. It’s amazing that Arashi-san who debuted in the Heisei era were able to reach their peak in Heisei as well and were able to perform at the National Staidum many times. I really want us reach that position as well.
Fuma x Heisei Johnny’s
Fuma: With Johnny’s history, I think Kimura Takuya-san’s presence is amazing. For the Heisei era, I think Kimura Takuya is a name that has paved the way for Johnny’s idols. And for me personally it’s Arashi-san!
Someone who was yearning for Arashi, Fuma has first seen Arashi’s successful history as a big fan.
Fuma: Ever since debut I thought everyone (in Arashi) was cool. When Matsumoto Jun-kun’s „Hana yori dango“ started, we often talked about Arashi in class and me who was a fan since they debuted, I miss watching them from afar... I mean from that standpoint (laughing).
Young Fuma who was mesmerised by seeing Arashi’s coolness called them „They’re surely millennium Johnny’s“ before.
Fuma: „A day in our life“ had an underground feel to it, even the jacket design, I definitely thought this is the youth of the 2000’s!! When it comes to generations... after Hey!Say!JUMP, there are many young people in Johnny’s, we also want to try doing something different from now on. What that is or how we’re going to come up with that idea, I don’t know if we’re going to be allowed but I definitely want us do something special that no one else but us is able to do.
Keep in mind I am not a native speaker therefore there might be mistakes in my translations. Also I’m not exactly translating word for word. Feel free to correct me in my ask box any time you want, I’d appreciate it! I apologize if someone already translated something before me and I didn’t notice, I hope you don’t mind.
