It only takes 30 minutes to make this 30 Minute Marinara Sauce Dip, and it tastes great. It's great for dipping veggies, breadsticks, or mozzarella sticks, and it also tastes great as a sauce for other foods.
Ingredients: 2 14.5 ounce cans diced tomatoes. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 1 small onion, finely chopped. 4 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon dried oregano. 1 teaspoon dried basil. 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme. 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes. Salt and pepper to taste. 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar. 1 tablespoon tomato paste. 1 tablespoon sugar optional, to balance acidity.
Instructions: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, dried thyme, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in diced tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, tomato paste, and sugar if using. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Transfer the sauce to a food processor or blender and blend until smooth. Serve as a dip with your favorite snacks or use as a sauce for pasta, pizza, or sandwiches.
