Saudi Women who are married to Non-Saudi men?

I know that there are many Saudi women are married to Non-Saudi men. The thing is I’ve always wanted to meet such couples just to ask them questions on how their marriage succeeded, and most importantly how did they convince their parents?

I almost had a chance to meet Saudi French couple but unfortunately, the Saudi woman was scared and didn’t feel comfortable to share her experience. So I felt disappointed a little because I’d like to be like them sooner or later. After that, I tried searching for women who are in the same situation but again I couldn’t meet anyone and that led me to writing this post on Tumblr.

However, It is more difficult for a woman to have interracial marriage in here and it’s less acceptable by society.

Choosing The Husband

I always like to let siblings, my friends or people around me to do what they want in life. I may tell them to change their mind or give a negative opinion if I don't like what they say, at the end I tell them "it's what you want". Forcing someone to do something they don't want is really annoying and dominating. Why forcing it if they don't like it? the forced person would do what the forcer want because they no longer want the pressure they get. I see this problem all the time in my Saudi society. In my opinion I like to choose what I want to be in life and who I want to be with. and here comes my point.

When Saudi woman wants to get married with a guy she wants, she needs her father permission but this is not the issue. The issue is when the father doesn't like the guy she wants. Preventing his daughter from being happy and her freedom to be with who she wants. I do feel sad when I hear this. 

This problem happens first because of tribal matters as some families don't like the other family tribe. Second, it is not very common for women to marry Non-Saudi man. Many people think the girl who marries a foreigner is an ugly girl and couldn't find a Saudi man. Or they think every foreigner guy marries a Saudi woman only for financial purposes. So women are controlled in choosing their life partner.

The other thing is women are afraid to fight for who they want to be with, in order not to lose their friends or some family members. but in the end the family must understand it is the girl's choice in life and opinion can't be forced.
