Today's hot take on school shootings

Hey y'all, so I know some of you guys have been seeing me live blog all day today about the shooting at Saugus. I'm continuing to update since my school is just 4 miles away and was affected by the lockdown, but lemme just tell y'all something real quick

WE. NEED. GUN. CONTROL.

Period. It's not an option at this point, it's bullshit that this keeps happening and NOTHING is being done to stop it from happening again. This needs to STOP

Students are DYING at a place they should feel SAFE. This country is FAILING us because they won't pass a gun control law

Newsflash: "thoughts and prayers" doesn't do ANYTHING to stop this from happening. "Thoughts and prayers" don't FIX this. "Thoughts and prayers" don't stop students from FEARING FOR THEIR LIVES every time they go to school

Something needs to be done, shit like this can't just keep happening. This twisted system is hurting its students. We're SCARED and nothing is happening to protect us, nothing's stopping this from happening again

So people need to stop with their pro gun bullshit and pass some gun control laws because this generation is growing up in fear of school shootings. And it's a REASONABLE fear, this is NORMAL, it gets brushed under the rug and forgotten about, but we won't forget, we can't forget

My friends could have died today, someone's friend DID die today, parents lost their CHILD to a monster. This needs to stop. Something needs to change. Now

Now that their names have been officially out for a while now, I want to make a post about it

These two students are Dominic Blackwell and Gracie Anne Muehlberger, the two students that were murdered in the Saugus shooting 2 short weeks ago. Dominic was just 14, and Gracie only 15. In just 16 short seconds, their lives were lost, and every student's life was forever altered

DON'T FORGET THEIR NAMES, these were two preventable deaths. They weren't the first, and they likely won't be the last. Dominic and Gracie will forever be in our hearts, and their deaths will haunt us all

Today officially marks one week since my community was left broken in the wake of the Saugus high school shooting. I can't believe it's only been a week, it feels like so much longer. Time has been so weird, and it's been really difficult to make it though this past week. We're all scared and shaken, but we're still going. We've crashed against the cliffside, we're splintered and broken, but we're still here and we're still fighting. To anyone in our community affected by the shooting, keep going and stay strong. We'll all get through this together <3

Hey y'all, just want to say that I'm sorry for not posting as often the past couple days. I know y'all don't really wanna see nothing but stuff about a school shooting but this is the harsh reality for me now. Things have been really hard and the only comfort I've found is in other survivors, strangers that I probably never would've talked to if this hadn't happened

I have one friend I've been talking to besides the other survivors I've met, my other friends don't seem to even care much which really hurts, but I understand it's not a subject everyone's comfortable talking about. We've all just been having the worst week and everyone's so scared and overwhelmed. I'll try to get my blog getting more back to normal, but it's just been a lot. I'm still so exhausted and drained, everything feels so weird and almost wrong rn. So please bear with me while I deal with this

It's officially been a month since the shooting at Saugus. 4 short weeks ago, we lost two amazing lives to something that was entirely preventable

One month ago, we were students ready to take on a new day

One month ago, a boy shot up Saugus high school

One month ago, 3 lives were lost

One month ago, the course of our lives changed forever in just 16 short seconds

One month ago, the way we view our safe community altered completely

One month ago, we knew things would never go back to how they had been before

One month ago, we all stood together and supported each other

If there's anything I learned in this past month, it's that people will be there to stand beside you, even when you don't think you can get up. People you never would've known otherwise, strangers, become friends. When you're broken on the ground, when you're lost and don't think you can ever be found, when you feel like you can't take another step, someone will carry you home

Thank you to all the incredible people I've met in these horrible times. I'm glad we found each other and that we could all be here to support each other. Remember, you're not alone

Today marks 4 weeks since the school shooting at Saugus. In 2 days, it'll have been just 1 month. It feels like so much longer than just a month

All the adults seem to be over it, but all of us students in the district all still traumatized from the events of that day. They're trying to help us mentally, but they're doing nothing to stop this from happening again. Nothing's changed security-wise despite the threats that were made to other schools, including my own

We're all just scared kids wondering if we're gonna make it through the school year, through high school, if we're gonna make it a few more months to graduation. I never thought that this would be the reason I didn't think I would live long enough to graduate, but we're all trying to stay strong as push through for Dominic and Gracie, as well as the other victims and for each other
