Reader’s gender and age isn’t stated but reader is older than Tanjiro and Nezuko, thinking about 18 years old
Dynamic with the siblings
They adore you, absolutely worships the ground you walk on
Remember Tanjiro’s Mr. Giyuu? That’s both of them with you
They’re your little ducklings 🥰
Both of them are relatively clingy, but Nezuko is definitely more open about it than Tanjiro
You absolutely have to force him to relax and rest, especially when he bends over backwards to help everyone
Both of them like to sneak into your bed and lay there with you, just like they did before Muzan came
They’re your #1 supporters for life
Nezuko loves to turn into her toddler form and just be held by you
Tanjiro just holds your hand a lot, still remembering that he’s a child too. He can take a break
Dynamic with Kamaboko squad + Kanao and Genya
Sooo you’re the squads’ big sibling
You have to deal with their shenanigans that may or may not get a normal person killed
But good thing none of you are normal people
Inosuke wants to fight you for “leader”
Zenitsu begs you to tell him everything about Nezuko when she was a child
Genya gets so flustered around you and tries to push you away, but you really remind him of ‘Nemi before everything happened so he won’t fight back for long
Kanao was definitely the one to recognize the older sibling affection you have and silently asks for it like a puppy just begging with wide eyes
Dynamics with hashira
Mitsuri absolutely eats up all of the older sibling affection, she’s the eldest sibling herself but she wouldn’t mind experiencing being the younger sibling for a change
Shinobu really gets taken back to a time where Kanae was alive, it’s bittersweet for her but will never ask you to stop
Big brother giyuu finally gets a break.. wrong. He gets adopted into the sibling dynamics. He has no say
Obanai most likely doesn’t like you at all, but since you’re older he does tolerate you
Muichiro is adopted. Not by your choice. By his.
Kyojuro honestly asks you to watch over his younger brother for a bit since he certainly doesn’t want him alone in the house with his father
Gyomei is just very happy to be in the presence of a pure and loving sibling relationship from both sides
Tengen insists for you to be his student since your younger brother and his friends are so impressive
Sanemi mellows down with you, it’s honestly kinda scary but you make him nostalgic for a time before
Taisho era secret:
I heard that Muzan screamed when he saw you because he thought you were the first user of sun breathing
hi i’ve recently been really into dispatch lately so have this thought.
im sorry if its not accurate or i get characterization wrong, most of my knowledge is from clips ive seen of the game and watching only half of the episodes because ive been so busy but i do know whats going on.
CW!! this is ass im sorry, gore?? fighting and violence, i kept reader as gender neutral as possible and i kept this free of any spoilers about the new episodes. reader has a power. uuhhh thats it i think
the z-team with a dispatcher reader who is an absolute sweetheart.
anyone at SDN who has worked or interacted with you always has something nice to say.
of course, a lot of the team are very weary around you at first, thinking that its all an act and you’ll eventually show your true colors.
but that never happenes. you just have this sort of hope and care for them that alot of the team weren’t used to.
you're so kind and thoughtful to everyone, even with the more colder and ruder personalities. you’re always willing to help and listen, making sure everyone is taken care of and feels seen but you also don’t push too hard.
you simply do the best you can with what you’re given.
but make no mistake, just cause you’re a sweetheart doesn’t mean that you’re also a doormat. you’ve had your fair share of having to be cold and stern with certain people.
although those moments are definitely rare, they’re not unfamiliar to you.
there’s actually a rumor (that you refuse to comment on) about how you were actually supposed to be a hero but for some reason you never pursued it. they know you have powers but they don’t know how powerful you are.
anytime they try to ask and pry they’re always met with the same smile and a very vague answer before you gently tell them to focus on work.
none of the team have really seen that side of you. maybe you’ve come close to it once or twice when your forced smile gets too tight because someone is spouting the most ridiculous nonsense to you but you’ve always managed to keep your composure.
but that fight at the bar definitely changed their view on you.
you had been sitting outside with golem, not really in the mood for drinking so you thought you would keep him company. you both were just talking about the music he listens to when a portal opened in front of you both.
you follow golem and are shocked by the chaotic scene. you debate just waiting for everyone outside but don’t get the chance to think about it for too long when some random villain attempts to attack you from behind.
your instincts kick in and you manage to quickly dodge. you grab them by the back of their head and slam their head into the floor repeatedly, effectively knocking them out.
you try to make your escape outside but this time you feel someone put you in a headlock. they try to slit your throat but it doesn’t penetrate your skin. for a moment they look confused.
that’s when they realize the change in your appearance. they couldn’t cut you because your skin fucking hardens. (im uncreative with powers so yes this is based off of kirishima from mha and maybe colossus from x men)
you take their stunned silence as a chance to wriggle yourself out of their grip and deliver a punch to the face. because your skin is harder that means any of your regular attacks hit 100x harder.
you practically pushed the guys nose into his brain with the way he screams and falls to the floor, writhing in pain.
you’re trying to calm yourself down and clear your head but another villain tries attacking you once again, this time hitting you with a chair.
it doesn’t work of course. it breaks but it doesn’t do any damage. you look at the scrawny villain with the most terrifying death glare and he realizes he fucked up.
the team only become aware of your presence when you throw the guy across the bar and he crashes through the window, landing through the building across the street.
they spare a glance in your direction and are surprised at the drastic change in appearance.
you have a much darker and wilder look, your skin is harder and it makes you look sharp. like if they even put a pinky on you, their entire hand would get get off.
some of them look at you in awe and shock while others are cheering you on for finally letting loose.
only to quickly realize why you kept this hidden.
you’re not just beating the villains that are attacking you, you’re going absolutely insane on anyone getting in your way.
by the end of the fight they have to get flambae, punch-up and sonar in his true bat form to pry you off of the poor sap who probably needs facial reconstruction surgery after receiving the devastating hits you were giving to him and his friend who’s chest is probably caved in.
now you’re sat outside of this fast food place you don’t remember the name of, wearing sonars suit jacket because unfortunately your clothes got messed up. you tiredly munch on the food someone slide towards you.
another reason you didn’t like using your power was because it took a fuck ton of energy out of you. you wouldn’t be surprised if you end up oversleeping tomorrow. or just not going to work at all.
you’re brought back to reality when you realize someone was calling your name.
“why did you never became a hero? with that lil power of yours, you’re basically a human shield” prism asks as she and the others rewatch the video she managed to take of you while you were fighting.
this catches everyones attention. all of them agreeing before looking over to your tired form, waiting for your answer.
honestly, it was a lot of reasons. yeah your power was great but you hated how weak you felt after. the pain you would feel deep within your bones. especially when someone did manage to hit you hard enough even in your hardened state, the aftershock of it was the absolute worst.
if it wasn’t the pain in your bones, it was the way your skin felt after. you always felt like you were on fire while someone was cutting into your skin simultaneously.
but those weren’t the biggest reasons you decided to not become a hero.
after taking a sip of your drink, you bluntly answer.
“i hate violence”
they all stare at you, waiting for you to elaborate further before realizing that you weren’t going to as you continued to eat your food.
they laugh at the answer.
of fucking course that was your reason.
but as they all watch the video of you snapping one of the villians necks like it was a pencil, they understand.
and honestly? they’re grateful that your a sweetheart.
uuuuhhhh i didn’t know how to end this so yeah.
hope you enjoyed! i love these goobers so much i need more z-team x reader fics NEOWWW CAUSE IM A WHORE!!!!
Yandere!VampireFather treats his position as the Head of the High Vampire Council as a glorified funding mechanism for your comfort. He has completely legalized the total exemption of your name from any public record, meaning you don't answer to the laws of the empire, you only answer to him. If you casually mention that the cobblestones in the courtyard hurt your newly sensitive immortal feet, he won't just have you carried, he will literally deploy three battalions of human labor to rip up the entire street layout and replace it with smooth, polished black jade overnight.
Yandere!VampireFather has a deeply unhinged, intensely soft policy regarding your past as a lower-being servant. He completely despises the fact that your hands ever knew the weight of a broom or a washing bucket. If you out of habit try to pick up a dropped napkin or clear a teacup from the table, his doting facade will instantly drop into a panicked, frantic rush. He will snatch the porcelain out of your hands, scoop you up into his arms, and spend the next twenty minutes inspecting your palms for any phantom calluses while aggressively scenting your wrists, reminding you that your only job in this castle is to sit beautifully and let your father adore you.
Yandere!VampireFather takes immense, manic pride in forcing the very vampire elites who used to look down on humans to bow completely flat on the floor before you. During grand court galas, he will seat you right next to him on the high dais, draped in heavy ermine cloaks and layers of pearls that he hand-selected. If a visiting archduke looks at you with even a shred of the old lower-being condescension, your sire’s eyes will glow a terrifying, blinding crimson. He will politely, elegantly threaten to liquidate the archduke's entire provincial estate on the spot unless they kiss the hem of your velvet slippers and apologize to the rightful heir of the throne.
Yandere!VampireFather goes out of his way to curate a personal court of attendants whose entire, singular purpose is to cater to your whims, but he remains incredibly jealous of their proximity to you. If he catches a high-ranking servant adjusting your crown a little too slowly, he will smoothly dismiss them with a chilling smile and take over the task himself, gently running his cold fingers through your hair to reassert his total monopoly over your care. He wants you to realize that while you have a thousand people ready to serve you, he is the only one allowed to truly touch you.
Yandere!VampireFather spoiling extends to completely reshaping the local economy just to bring a small smile to your face. If you offhandedly mention that you miss a specific sweet treat from the human quarters, he won't just buy the recipe; he will purchase the entire merchant guild, construct a gold-leaf patisserie inside the palace walls, and command the master bakers to work around the clock to perfect the recipe for their new immortal sovereign. He completely equates wealth and absolute comfort with security, fully convinced that if your life is luxurious enough, you will never even think about looking back at the world outside his palace gates.
Yandere!VampireFather makes it a daily rule that you are never allowed to let your feet touch the bare floor, completely convinced that the cold stone is a hazard to his precious fledgling. If you forget and step out of bed without your silk slippers, he will materialize across the room in a blur of motion, letting out a sharp, panicked gasp before lifting you entirely into his arms to carry you to a pile of plush velvet cushions. He takes this rule so seriously that he has hired a dedicated team of craftsmen just to pave the grand gallery with woven tapestries and thick, cushioned furs, ensuring that even if you wander around the estate on your own, you are walking on pure comfort.
Yandere!VampireFather's overprotective nature turns the simple act of choosing your daily attire into a grand, state-wide logistics operation. Because your body temperature dropped significantly during the transformation, he is constantly terrified that you are going to catch a chill, leading him to commission the finest weavers across the continent to create garments that are heavily lined with the softest winter ermine. He will personally inspect every single coat, robe, and scarf before it enters your chambers, turning the fabric inside out to check for any hidden, scratchy seams that might irritate your skin, and he will stubbornly wrap you in three different layers of heavy velvet himself before allowing you to step onto the grand balcony.
Yandere!VampireFather has developed a deeply unhinged habit of treating the grand library as a personal ledger to edit out any history that doesn't involve your new royal status. He completely despises the fact that you spent the first part of your life bowing to other people, so he has quietly commanded his scribes to locate every old estate record, census list, and servant logbook containing your original human name and burn them to ash. In their place, he has had massive, beautifully illuminated family trees commissioned, permanently weaving your new immortal title into the ancient lineage of the high council, effectively rewriting the history of the empire to declare that you have always been his rightful, treasured heir from the very beginning.
Yandere!VampireFather's jealousy extends even to the luxury items he buys to spoil you, as he cannot stand the thought of anyone else taking credit for your happiness. If a foreign diplomat brings you a chest of rare, shimmering pearls as a tribute to secure an alliance, your sire will smile politely, accept the gift, and immediately have it locked away in the deepest vaults where you will never see it. The very next morning, he will present you with a much grander, custom-crafted necklace made of flawless, glowing moonstones that he hand-picked from his own private mines, kissing your forehead as he clasps it around your neck just to ensure that every beautiful thing you wear is a direct gift from his hands alone.
Yandere!VampireFather uses his absolute political authority to build a beautiful, impenetrable fortress around your daily routine, completely satisfying his need to keep you small, safe, and entirely dependent on his affection. When the high council holds its midnight assemblies to discuss the tax rates of the outer provinces, he will sit at the head of the long obsidian table with a terrifying, cold demeanor that keeps the other lords in a state of absolute silence, all while his left arm is gently, rhythmically patting your head as you doze off in the massive, velvet-lined chair right beside him. He has successfully conditioned the entire court to accept that the fate of the empire rests entirely on whether his precious fledgling is getting enough sleep, fully prepared to tear the kingdom apart before he ever lets a single inconvenience disrupt your luxury.
Is it ok if I request smth platonic for Malleus, Riddle, and Azul with a kid yuu (specifically around pre-teen age) who uses them like a shield or hiding place because of their long capes/coat like the scene in wha when coco hides behind qifrey? im a found family x reader truther in a fandom with romance focused fics/j

【a/n: hi hi anon!!!! I hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long for this, and if I did you have my apologies. I had a really fun writing your request and I really hope you like it! I’m actually really glad you mentioned Qifrey and Coco bc I’ve been obsessed with Witch Hat Atelier ever since I finished reading the manga! I’m definitely gonna take request for it once I clear out my inbox, so hopefully you return then to send another one in! Anyway, so sorry again and I hope you enjoy! <333】
‧₊˚ ┊ There has to be a rule that forbids hiding beneath the Queen of Hearts' cape! Well, at least that's what Riddle immediately thought the first time you took it upon yourself to hide beneath it. His first instinct was to scold you for acting so childish, but then he remembered that you literally are a child, and quickly bit his tongue. So, Riddle, albeit reluctantly, let you hide underneath his cape. (Of course, he'd huff and grumble and complain, but he never once told you no. To be honest, he just can't bring himself to deny you, so use that power wisely lol!)
‧₊˚ ┊ Your fascination with Riddle's cape is beyond him, so be honest. I mean, he does enjoy how regal and commanding it makes him look, but he can't fathom why you're so obsessed with hiding beneath it. Similarly, the ADeuce duo — well, mainly Ace — doesn't understand why you like hiding in their Housewarden's shadow, but Riddle is very quick to slap a collar on either of them of the tease you too much for his liking. (Cater and Trey jokingly call him a protective older bother, which almost gets them both collared by a very flustered Riddle.)
‧₊˚ ┊ With time, Riddle grows rather fond of your antics and almost brings to expect you to worm your way beneath his cape whenever he dons his dorm uniform. He is, of course, too proud to admit how much he enjoys your antics, and will deny it up and down if you or anyone else tries to call him out! Riddle was certainly a reluctant big brother, but he's settled into the role and takes his duty very seriously! (He didn't have an older sibling to protect him when he was young, so he's gonna make up for the past by being there for you!)
‧₊˚ ┊ In the beginning, Azul was rather annoyed by how you clung to him like a sucker fish, but with time, he began to find it somewhat endearing. He's, of course, too proud to admit that he finds your antics quite sweet, but it's very easy for everyone to tell how fond he is of you. (Jade and Floyd, obviously, poke fun at the poor octopus, but you're spared from their teasing since you're just a little shrimpy.)
‧₊˚ ┊ You're almost always welcome beneath the cover of the coat Azul wears over his shoulders, just not when he's doing business. On one occasion, you nearly gave one of his clients a heart attack after you popped out from the dark recesses of his coat. After that, he very politely asked that you refrain from hiding there while he's trying to make a deal. (Thankfully, he didn't lose that client you scared half to death, but even if he had, he couldn't be too mad at you.)
‧₊˚ ┊ Although you're not technically a member of the Octavinelle dorm, Azul takes it upon himself to have a matching oversized coat made for you. Of course, it could never compare to the billowing glory of Azul's, but at least you can hide beneath it whenever you're not able to be within reach of his coat. (Azul thinks you look like quite the professional little thing in your coat and, admittedly, feels something akin to pride whenever he sees you wearing it. He's a proud big bro lol.)
‧₊˚ ┊ Oh, Malleus is so utterly delighted that you have taken to him so readily! Most turn away from him out of fear, yet you look to him as a protector, a friend, a brother even. You are always allowed to seek refuge beneath the shadows of Malleus's cape. In fact, you needn't ask for permission, simply drape the fabric over yourself whenever you so please! (Malleus has always wanted a younger sibling, and while he certainly has a brotherly bond with Silver, the knight is a bit too old for him to dote on, unlike you.)
‧₊˚ ┊ It's quite hard for people to find Malleus scary and intimidating when you're burrowed beneath his cape. Actually, the sight helps to dampen the cold and untouchable image that most people have of the Prince. Lilia, of course, finds the sight quite cute and will take a million pictures of the two of you together since you're just too cute together! (If Malleus is your big brother figure, then Lilia is your fun uncle, while Sebek and Silver are your surrogate cousins — you're the unofficial member of the family that they all love and adore!)
‧₊˚ ┊ Malleus would get you a cape of your own — and one for Grim too, if he wished for one — but then you wouldn't need him, and that's the last thing he wants! Being relied on by you makes him feel all warm and fuzzy, and he's not going just let that feeling be ripped away from him so easily! Malleus knows you won't be little forever — you humans age oh so quickly — but for now, he'll treasure these little moments where you still need him to be your shield. (Malleus is the big bro ever, and you can't change my mind!)
Notes: Prototype might be out of character. Reader is gender neutral but is referred to as 'mother'. Reader has been turned into a toy but what they are has not been described. Set after chapter 5. Reader was originally human.
It has been what feels like years–it most likely has been–since Poppy last saw you. But you...you aren't what she remembers. You're not human anymore. You're plastic, it almost looks like porcelain with the way the light shines down on you.
"Mother.." She whispers, hurrying towards your sitting form, the monster following after her. Poppy curled into your lap, her tiny hands reaching towards your face. Sobs escaping her mouth before her head whipped behind her, staring the prototype down. "What did you do to them!" She screamed.
"What I had to." He answers, circling the mother and daughter. "They were sick," He paused, the jingling of his bells being the only thing heard in the sickening silence before he continued. "They asked me to do this. And why should a son deny his mother a chance to live." Poppy gasped, shaking her head. "Liar!" The doll shouted at the towering monster.
"They would've-..." She stuttered, her voice fading into her voice box. "Would've what, Poppy?" The prototype prods, that sickening grin looking down at her. Poppy hugs you tightly, shaking her head. "They would never have let you do this! Never!" She sobs.
The prototype growled, grabbing poppy by the head and lifting her up to his eye level. "You have no right to say that!" He hissed. "I have every right!" She shot back, her body shaking. The prototype looked down at you before looking back at poppy, his grip tightening. Nearly making her look worse. "I should have never brought you to them. What a waste." He scoffed, re-adjusting his grip on poppy and walking away from you.
"What are you doing!?" Poppy yelled, squirming in his grip, before realisation started to dawn. "No! Don't put me back there!" The doll cried out. "Please! Let me stay with them!" She begged, but he never reacted. "Mother!" She screamed. And that cry seemed to wake you.
The porcelain doll continued to scream and cry before a voice cut in. Your voice. "P-Poppy..?" You rasped, your eyes fluttering. "Mother!" Poppy gasped. The prototype paused mid stride, turning around and walking towards you. "Did she wake you, Mother?" He asked, his grip tightening around the doll's waist. You just stared at him, no response coming from your lips.
The prototype hummed, a deep rumble coming from his chest. "Sleep, Mother." He said gently. "You will see her again soon." He assured, his hand stroking your head gently. "What did you do to them!?" She repeated as the prototype continued his stride to the exit. Ignoring her cries. As you stared helplessly at her, frozen in your position. Watching as they left, poppy's cries echoing through the factory.
"Poppy." You repeated, but no one could hear your weak voice.

bruce finds you after a justice league incident where you crash-land in gotham, immediately touch his arm, gasp, and say, “You are very sad and have not slept since the age of eight.”
you are painfully sincere, extremely emotionally perceptive, and have no idea how earth customs work.
you tell people their “internal weather” is gloomy. you call lying “verbal camouflage.” you think handshakes are strange because humans “briefly trap each other’s fingers to prove they are not enemies.”
bruce wayne
Bruce acts calm about adopting an alien child, but internally, he is absolutely spiralling.
He reads every alien biology file the Justice League has. He makes contingency plans, dietary charts, safe-room protocols, emotional support protocols, and probably a binder titled “Alien Child: Unknown Customs, Known Needs.”
You call him “Father Bruce” very formally at first. Then “Bat-Father.” Then “Dark Dad.”
Then, after watching him brood on a rooftop, “My beloved nocturnal tree of sadness.”
Bruce pretends not to like this.
He loves it.
You can sense his emotions, so his whole “I’m fine” act collapses immediately.
Bruce: “I’m fine.”
You, touching his sleeve: “You are experiencing grief, guilt, back pain, and the emotional flavour of wet stone.”
Bruce: “...”
You: “Also hunger.”
Alfred: “At last. Someone useful.”
Bruce is extremely protective of you because you’re new to Earth, but you’re also weirdly powerful, so half the time he’s protecting Gotham from your enthusiasm.
You once accidentally levitate during a charity gala because someone complimented your outfit, and your joy “became too large for gravity.”
Bruce calmly puts a hand on your shoulder and says, “Feet on the floor.”
You beam. “Yes, Father Bruce.”
The press loves you because you answer questions too honestly.
Reporter: “What’s Bruce Wayne like as a father?”
You: “He is very loving but pretends to be furniture.”
Bruce nearly chokes.
dick grayson
Dick immediately decides he is your emotional support human.
You adore him because his emotions are bright, warm, and acrobatic.
You call him “Brother of Flips.”
Dick: “That’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever called me.”
He teaches you slang. This is a mistake. You start saying things like, “That villain’s vibes are rancid,” and “Father Bruce, your coping mechanisms are not slay.”
Dick is so proud.
He also teaches you hugs, high-fives, fist bumps, and dramatic entrances.
You love hugs. You become terrifyingly good at them. Like, emotionally healing bear traps.
Dick notices you can sense when people are hiding sadness, so he gently teaches you boundaries.
“Sometimes people aren’t ready to be read,” he tells you.
You take this very seriously and start asking, “May I perceive you?”
Dick cries laughing the first time.
You become one of the only people who can get Dick to admit when he’s overwhelmed.
You simply sit beside him and say, “Your smile is doing too much work today.”
That gets him every time.
jason todd
Jason does not trust you at first.
Not because you’re an alien. Gotham has weirder things on Tuesdays. He doesn’t trust you because you’re too sweet, too open, and too good at seeing through him.
You touch his hand once by accident and freeze.
Jason immediately pulls away. “What?”
You stare at him with huge, sad eyes. “You are very angry. But underneath it is a small boy holding a crowbar-shaped shadow.”
The room goes silent.
Jason: “Don’t do that.”
You: “I am sorry. I did not mean to open your sorrow cabinet.”
He avoids you for three days.
Then you show up at his apartment with soup because you sensed he was “emotionally crunchy.”
He tells you to leave.
You ask if that is “a real leave” or “a wounded animal leave.”
Jason hates that you’re know the difference.
Eventually, he becomes one of your fiercest protectors.
He teaches you swear words and then gets offended when you use them incorrectly.
You: “This soup is bitchin’ with despair.”
Jason: “Close enough.”
You think Jason’s helmet is wonderful.
You call him “Red Bucket Warrior.”
Jason: “Do not call me that in public.”
You, immediately at a Justice League meeting: “Red Bucket Warrior has arrived!”
Clark loses it. Bruce pinches the bridge of his nose. Jason considers exile.
Secretly, Jason loves that you’re never scared of him.
You once tell him, “Your anger is loud, but it does not make you monstrous. It is only pain wearing armour.”
Jason leaves the room.
Later, he brings you a book and says, “You might like this.”
That’s Jason for I love you, kid.
tim drake
You are fascinated by Tim. You think he is “small, fragile, and powered by forbidden bean water.”
Tim says he’s not fragile. Then he passes out standing up.
You scream because you think he has “entered death mode.”
Tim becomes your Earth Culture Tutor, which is deeply ironic because he’s barely functioning as an Earth citizen himself.
He explains memes to you. You misunderstand them constantly.
Tim: “So ‘no thoughts, head empty’ means—”
You: “Ah. Like when Father Bruce attends a social event.”
Tim: “Exactly.”
You and Tim become dangerous together because he has plans and you have zero impulse control.
Tim: “We need a distraction.”
You: “I will scream in seventeen languages.”
Tim: “That could work.”
Bruce, over comms: “No.”
You adore Tim’s detective brain. You call him “Brother of Many Tabs.”
Tim pretends to hate it, but he changes your contact name to Alien Gremlin and yours for him is Sleep-Deprived Oracle Bird.
You can sense when Tim is anxious before he says anything. You’ll quietly hand him a weighted blanket, coffee, or sit beside him without touching.
He appreciates that you learn not to pry.
One night, Tim asks, “What do I feel like?”
You think carefully and say, “Like a candle pretending to be a lighthouse.”
Tim is silent for a long time.
Then he says, “That’s actually devastating. Thanks.”
damian wayne
Damian declares you suspicious immediately. “You are not human.”
You gasp. “You noticed! You are very clever.”
Damian does not know what to do with sincere praise. It disarms him more effectively than any weapon.
At first, he sees you as an intruder.
You see him as “small blade brother.”
Damian: “I am not small.”
You: “You are emotionally small in a way that bites.”
Damian: “Tt.”
You adore his animals. Titus loves you instantly. Alfred the cat tolerates you (which is high praise). Bat-Cow accepts you as kin after you solemnly bow and call her “Honoured Milk Beast.”
Damian pretends not to like you, but he starts teaching you about Earth animals.
You take everything literally.
Damian: “This is a robin.”
You: “Like Brother Dick? Was he once bird-shaped?”
Damian: “Unfortunately, no.”
You are one of the few people who can make Damian laugh accidentally.
You once ask if murder is considered “bad manners” or “illegal seasoning.”
Damian laughs so hard he has to leave the room.
Eventually, Damian becomes quietly possessive of you as a sibling. If anyone insults your alien habits, Damian appears like a tiny storm cloud with a sword.
“They are adapting. You are merely stupid.”
You cry because that is the nicest thing Damian has ever said to you.
He panics. “Do not leak from your face. I defended you adequately.”
duke thomas
Duke is one of the easiest people for you to be around. His energy feels steady, bright, and grounded.
You call him “Sun Brother.”
Duke actually loves it.
He helps you adjust to Gotham because he knows what it’s like to enter the Batfamily later and feel like everyone else already knows the choreography.
He tells you, “You don’t have to become like them to belong here.”
That hits you hard.
You ask, “Even if I am strange?”
Duke smiles. “Especially then. This family runs on strange.”
You and Duke bond over light. Your alien biology reacts to certain kinds of sunlight or starlight, and Duke’s powers feel comforting to you.
Sometimes when you’re homesick, he sits with you at sunrise.
No big speech. Just warmth.
You tell him his light feels “like a door remembering it can open.”
Duke gets quiet. Then he says, “That’s beautiful.”
You grin. “I am very wise before breakfast.”
stephanie brown
Steph adopts you emotionally within five seconds.
She calls you “space bestie.” You call her “Purple Joy Warrior.”
She teaches you about waffles, glitter, sarcasm, prank wars, and reality TV.
This is catastrophic. You become addicted to makeover shows and start rating villains by “emotional renovation potential.”
Joker: “Why so serious?”
You: “Because your aura is mouldy and your outfit lacks narrative cohesion.”
Steph falls over laughing.
You and Steph prank the entire Manor. Nothing harmful. Mostly glitter, googly eyes, and changing Bruce’s ringtone to dramatic opera.
Bruce: “Who did this?”
You, glowing faintly with pride: “I participated in bonding crime.”
Steph: “Snitches get stitches, bestie.”
You: “I do not want stitches.”
Steph teaches you that sometimes “crime” means “family fun with plausible deniability.”
Bruce bans this lesson immediately.
It does not work.
cassandra cain
Cass understands you better than almost anyone.
You read emotions through touch. Cass reads bodies like poetry. The two of you can communicate without words almost immediately.
You sit together often, shoulder to shoulder, watching people move through the Manor.
You call Cass “Quiet Star.”
Cass smiles every time.
She likes that you do not expect her to speak. You like that she understands feelings without needing them explained.
The first time you touch her hand, you feel calm, discipline, grief, love, and a deep, deep loneliness.
You simply squeeze her fingers and say, “You are not empty. You are full of quiet light.”
Cass hugs you.
Everyone pretends not to cry.
You and Cass become terrifying in combat together. She moves like shadow; you float, dodge, and occasionally knock enemies over by accidentally blasting them with emotional energy.
You once shout, “Your hostile feelings are unpleasant!” before launching a goon into a dumpster.
Cass gives you a thumbs-up.
That’s basically a standing ovation from her.
clark kent
Clark is delighted by you.
He gives off such warm, golden energy that you immediately trust him.
You touch his hand once and gasp. “You are made of kindness and solar explosions.”
Clark blushes.
Bruce: “Don’t encourage him.”
Clark becomes your guide to being alien on Earth.
He understands the homesickness, the loneliness, the weirdness of learning human customs while everyone assumes you’re fine because you look mostly okay.
You ask him if he ever feels “too not-from-here.”
Clark gets very soft.
“All the time,” he says. “But Earth became home anyway.”
You think about that for days.
You also adore his cape.
You ask if it is a “formal blanket of heroism.”
Clark says yes. Bruce says no.
You believe Clark.
You and Clark sometimes float together above the Kent farm and look at the stars. He tells you about Krypton. You tell him about your planet.
Neither of you has to pretend not to miss what you lost.
Clark is also the one who gently explains that Bruce adopting strays is basically his love language.
You ask, “So he collects wounded beings and gives them bedrooms?”
Clark: “Pretty much.”
You: “That is beautiful and concerning.”
Clark: “That’s Bruce.”
extra
You struggle with Earth sometimes. The food is strange. The customs are stranger. Gotham is loud and wet and full of fear.
Some nights you sit on the roof of Wayne Manor staring at stars that do not form the constellations you know.
Bruce finds you there.
You tell him, “I am happy here. But I am also sad there is no here that contains everything I miss.”
Bruce sits beside you.
For once, he doesn’t try to fix it. He just says, “I know.”
You lean against him.
He lets you.
After a while, you whisper, “Your sadness is quieter tonight.”
Bruce says, “So is yours.”
That becomes your thing. Sitting together. Saying nothing. Letting the night hold both of you.
Because somehow, impossibly, the alien child with too much heart and the human father with too many ghosts learn how to be family.
Okay but for whatever reason the team was stuck with this practically mute girl following them around base.
She's deadly smart. Will silently correct paperwork and fix gear. Super duper skittish. Soap jokingly flirted once and she hid behind Price for three days before he could bribe her out with a Candy bar. The issue?
This is a grown woman who just mid meeting with a complete ass of a superior decided, no.
The team just watched her get out of her chair set on the floor cross legged lay her head on Ghosts lap, move his pand onto her head and say "pet".
And he did without breaking his glare at the superior asshole.

Lyney wants to be as close to his loved one as possible. Perhaps it's a manifestation of his protectiveness, of his desire to keep the ones he loves safe from harm... or perhaps not. Maybe he just finds comfort in the contact. Regardless, he's the type to entangle his legs with yours and squeeze you close to him with his arms. He'll draw mindless shapes along your spine and on your skin, kneading it comfortingly to lull you into unconsciousness. It's possible to wiggle out of his embrace if, for any reason, you need to, but he'll most definitely wake up from the motion (he's quite accustomed to sleeping lightly, due to his affiliation with the Fatui) and quietly ask if you're okay or if you need something. He'll be waiting with his arms wide open for you when you return.
Freminet does not mind close physical contact with his loved one, but generally... simply sleeping facing one another, fingers intertwined and knees touching is enough for him. He may not fall asleep first. He'll likely be awake far longer than you will, watching you sleep with a tender gaze. He watches. Waits. Waits until he's sure nothing is going to happen to the two of you—only then does he fall asleep. Some mornings, you may wake up to him curled much closer to you than you remember him being before you fell asleep. He presses close in his unconsciousness, and he may stir a bit if you draw him closer, but he'll be quick to fall fully back asleep. Some mornings, he might be gone already.
Lynette, like her brothers, finds herself quite fond of being close to those she loves. She'll press close to you, a gentle rumble rising in her chest as she absorbs your warmth. Chances are, she'll either end up with her face pressed against your collar, or you'll end up with yours pressed against hers and with her arms wrapped securely around your upper body. She is much more like her twin in that she wants you as close as possible—she finds comfort in knowing that both of you are safe in one another's arms. However, she also is less likely to fall asleep first most nights. Her vigilance is admirable in many respects. She will not fall asleep until she knows for a fact that the two of you are secure, and she is quick to awaken if she senses something is wrong.
How Venti sleeps with his loved one is quite dependent on who is feeling what, and can generally vary. Some nights, he wants to be held by you, head pressed against your chest and arms and legs wrapped around your torso like a koala. A clingy koala, that is. Often times, he'll still be there when you awaken, kept asleep by the steady sound of your heartbeat. Other nights, he is more than happy to have your curled up in his lap against his chest as he hums a gentle tune, letting the calming melodies lull you to sleep. It is mornings after these sorts of nights where you might wake up alone with only a residual lullaby dancing at the back of your mind. He is fickle in that way, but you're sure to see him again in the coming days. He never allows you to miss him for too long.
Scaramouche isn't much of a cuddler. He may scoff at the idea, but if his loved one specifically requests it from him... he'll grumble and mutter about how needy you are, but he'll oblige you nonetheless. As a Fatui Harbinger, he is extremely busy—between paperwork and missions in other nations, he has very little time to indulge your whims, but he'll entertain you at least for a little while, and that is a privilege most others could not even dream of having. He'll lay on his back and let you curl up against his side. He might wrap an arm around you, muttering something that almost sounds… vaguely fond, beneath the layers of annoyance, though you cannot make out what he says. The vast majority of the time, he will not be there when you wake up. He might be in another nation entirely by the time you do, but… it's the sentiment—the willingness to let you have your way—that matters.
Kaveh is nothing if not touchy and affectionate, so cuddling is always on the table... if his loved one can coax him away from his work, that is. He's reluctant to stop working—he just has so much to do, he can hardly take a break now!—but once he does, he is all over you. Leg thrown over your hip, chest pressed firmly against yours, face tucked into the crook of your neck or vice versa... he is a cuddler, that's for sure. Kaveh is also fond of drawing little shapes onto your skin as he talks to you in a hushed and thoughtfully quiet tone. Most nights, the two of you will end up talking one another to sleep, murmuring about the day's events, the latest gossip he caught when he was at the tavern, his or your latest projects… anything is on the table. That is, until his murmurs trail off into little more than soft breaths as he falls unconscious against you.
Qiqi isn't particularly familiar with the concept. She thinks she can vaguely recall being held like that by someone a long, long time ago, but the memory is wispy and distant at best and she's honestly unsure if it actually happened or if she imagined it. This isn't to say that Baizhu has never held her—he most certainly has, and she found herself liking the closeness, it's just... she's unused to it. But if you so wish to sleep with her in your arms, she doesn't mind; she will find herself comforted by your warmth as it staves off the inherent coldness she radiates, both as a consequence of her vision and because of her bodily condition. She will eventually drift off herself after quietly watching you for a short while, little hands clasping your shirt, clinging to your body much like the child she is and the child she has not really been allowed to be.
Tighnari is quite open to the idea, even moreso if the two of you happen to be out doing research and find that it's gotten far too late to make the trip back to Gandharva Ville. It's an effective way to keep warm and it sates some deep-rooted instinct within him to keep his loved ones close. He doesn't mind if you want to cling to his side and sleep there while he is keeping watch; the fluff of his tail will prevent you from getting too cold, so that is no concern of his, and he is more than capable enough of fending off any threats. But if it's a more normal night, he's more than happy to cuddle normally. Tighnari prefers to hold you, but he doesn't particularly mind being held either—feel free to let him know if you have a preference. He won't mind accomodating.
Xiao is a bit opposed to the idea at first, especially if his loved one is a visionless mortal who would easily be affected by his karmic debt. He does not wish to hurt you—that is, in fact, the last thing he'd ever want to do. He doesn't know what he would do with himself if he did. At first, he'll most likely just watch you sleep, ever-vigilant, ever-protective. Not a single thing would dare to touch you when he watches you so diligently. You'll sleep at peace, at the very least, knowing that he is watching over you. Then, he might stiffly sit at the edge of your bed… still watching, of course, but he approaches you with a slowly-growing understanding that he will not hurt you. It is unlikely that Xiao will ever let his guard down enough to hold you properly (or to let you hold him, for that matter). Nevertheless, some nights, you may wake up in the morning swearing you could've felt a dip in the bed that certainly didn't come from someone sitting on the end.
Nahida isn't really opposed at all! She finds it very sweet that humans enjoy one another's company so deeply that they'll hold one another in their sleep. Perhaps Nahida also needs that kind of comfort, even if she doesn't realize it at first. She hasn't ever really been held; she's spent all her years alone and isolated. At first, it might begin with your head in her lap until you drift off (a natural position for the ever-wise and guiding goddess, one she has taken on with many people before you in an attempt to comfort them), though eventually it will turn into you holding her until she does. It really doesn't even have to be at night for it to happen—if the two of you happen to be spending time together, she might find herself soothed by your presence, lulled into a peaceful sleep that she has not been able to experience for centuries.
For Collei, it depends both on how close her loved one is to her and how she is feeling that night. Please don't get her wrong! If she says no, it isn't because she loves or trusts you less than others. She just... finds prolonged contact like that a bit suffocating, a bit difficult to manage. You would surely never hurt her. She knows that. Still, some nights, the contact might be a little too much. If you're willing to compromise, she's more than happy to sleep next to you (similarly to how Freminet prefers to sleep with his loved one). Sometimes, though... sometimes she needs to be held. She likes to be held, takes comfort in being able to press herself into your torso with your arms around her drawing soft shapes on her back, when she wants it. Don't make assumptions, though, and give her the freedom to decide what she wants and when.
Furina is very touch starved—that much is a given. For five hundred years, she was completely and utterly alone. There was no support. There was no-one to whom she could tell her story, tell the truth to, but now that she has completed the role she had to play... she doesn't have to be alone, but it's also quite hard for her to fit in. Therefore, she cherishes all those who welcome her with open arms. She's a little bit hesitant at first in that she doesn't know where to put her hands or her legs or… herself as a whole. It's been so long since anyone has offered to hold her like this. She doesn't remember how to be held. However, once she figures it out, she is quick to melt into your side, as if it were the most natural thing in the world to her. She'll relax into you, calmed by your warmth and your love for her in a way she has not been soothed in a very long time.
Neuvillette is not especially familiar with the idea (though, that isn't to say he's never done it… the melusines can be quite clingy in that way with him). That said, he's very much open to it—there is a certain draconic possessiveness he has over his loved ones, so opportunities to be close to them are very gratifying to his inherent instincts. He's more partial to holding you than any other arrangement. He likes the feeling of having you secure in his hold. It isn't exactly uncommon for him to settle in for the night with a book, using one arm to keep a firm hold around your waist as you drift off to the calming rumble of his voice reading you to sleep, gently rubbing a hand over your back. Other nights, nights during which he's not particularly busy, he might simple settle on laying down with you, tucking your head under his chin and squeezing his arms around your waist, almost as if he fears you'll disappear if he lets you go.
Arlecchino, for all her methods and mannerisms, does care for her loved ones. It's an unconventional care, perhaps, but it's there—present and enduring, the very beating heart of why she operates the way she does. For someone close enough to her, she may grant such an indulgence, though only with the disclaimer that she is extremely unlimely to stay the night. She is busy. She is needed elsewhere, always, but for you… she can spare a moment or two. She'll let you wrap yourself up in her arms, head against her chest, the hum rumbling in her ribs and the warmth pulsing off of her skin in waves soothing whatever anxieties or tensions that carried over into the night from the day. Her nails drag up and down your spine in a strangely comforting rhythm. She'll switch to scratching your scalp after a while (something many of her children seem to take comfort in, she has noted)—gently, as to not draw blood. It's only once you're thoroughly asleep that she'll slip away, skillfully silently, to attend to whatever duties she was neglecting in favor of you.
Il Dottore is a busy man. He spends much time in his lab for a reason, seeking progress and results. That said, he has little time to spare for such indulgences. He hardly stays still long enough for you to get comfortable anyway, abandoning his current subject of study and moving on to something else that catches his interest the second he gets bored or is dissatisfied with the results he is seeing, so catching him at the right time is pivotal. If everything aligns perfectly in your favor, he'll allow it. Though, with consideration to the fact that he spends so much time moving around, you may have to settle for resting near him in a little area that seems… uniquely designated for you, a space within his own that seems so natural, as if it were always meant to be there. He'll continue to work, maybe narrate his work and his related thoughts to you until you nod off to the sound of his voice. (And perhaps, though you may be unaware, he'll take small breaks to simply watch you, maybe even to sit at your side and place a hand on your upper arm until he deems it necessary to move again.)
