I️ am pleased to announce that one of the community’s most beloved events, the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Festivities, is coming to Town. Residents young and old are invited to Town Hall, 298 Central Street, on Friday, December 1, 2017 for a fun-filled evening with sleigh rides, a petting zoo, moon bounces, hot cocoa, cookies, a meet and greet with Santa, entertainment, hay rides, story time, trackless train rides, and much more. Thank you to everyone who came out to join the Selectmen, School Committee members, and myself in celebrating the Town’s continued and recent accomplishments and success. This special celebratory event highlighted the Town’s historic accomplishments and success, including the overwhelming Town-wide support for a new, 21st century education plan and grades 6-12, new MSBA Middle-High School District Wide Master Plan Solution; a $65.1 million Grant through the MSBA for the new Middle-High School; the Town’s financial success and stability; green initiatives including the investment of electric cars and an electric car charger; $5.5 million in outside grants/funding over the past 3+ years; capital improvements made to several local parks and playgrounds and much more.
